Poor little Wren..

This afternoon she was following me around, and she followed me into the bathroom. I was watching her, but didn't catch her fast enough before she slammed the door on her foot (she loves opening and closing doors). Her foot wasn't caught between the door or anything, but she let out a wail when it hit the top of her foot (if that makes sense-she was positioned in the doorway on her belly). Anyway, I picked her up and comforted her, but didn't think much of it. We went to sit down and read a book and she was still fussing, which is when I noticed her foot. Poor thing-her big toe's nail got pushed back and is broken half-way down. I feel horrible. It's not hanging by a thread or anything, but the nail is definitely broken, and was bleeding.

We gave her some tylenol to take the edge off and I rocked her to sleep. We tried to put a band-aid on it, but she kicked it off immediately. Any suggestions for what to do? I was thinking I would ice it when she wakes up if it still bothering her...

Poor girl, I hope it's not hurting her too much. Do you have any clear nail polish? I would probably try to put a little clear polish on her nail to keep it from ripping off.

Ouch-that sounds painful! Unfortunately I don't think there's much that can be done.

Surprisingly, Wren was fine when she woke from her nap! Can't believe how tough she is-it looks pretty painful!

Thanks for the support and tips. I may try the liquid bandage if needs be.
