Tyler was about 12.5m I think. I don't feel anywhere near ready to start with Leo though

We'll introduced at 12 mo mixed with my BM. I want to be completely weaned to cow's milk by 13 months. I am tired of pumping...but we'll still do a night nurse for both mommy and Luke's sake. I am not ready to give that up yet. But Luke is only 9 months, so we have a while. I know Leo is older. Will you introduce it at 12 m or his adjusted 12 age (is that even the right wording...I am not sure. Hope I didn't offend if it isn't the right word!)

Evie was about 15 months and had a decent intolerance to it. We tried the lactose milk but then she wasn't getting enough fat calories and wasn't gaining well so we switched to the Toddler Formula. Just in the last month or so she's been able to tolerate cows milk. Still in small amounts tho. We will probably wait with Paige. Plus I plan on still BFing.

At 11 months I'd like to put in his oatmeal and then wait a week and make sure he has no reaction to it. If not we'll put it in his oatmeal for the entire month. When he's 12 months we'll start with the morning feed and instead of nursing he'll get cow milk. We'll do that for one week then elimination the next feed in the day the next week. We'll just work on elimination one feeding per week. I'm' not sure if I'll hold on to the night feeding for longer or not. I will be really sad to lose the night time feeding I know that!

Adjusted/corrected either is fine.. and I don't offend easily lol! I'm swaying more towards 12 months corrected.. I think I'm getting anxious as we don't have the appointment through to see the consultant and I'd planned on asking then. He's 12m in 5 weeks so I feel like the clock is ticking. So do you think you'll start out half BM mixed with half cows milk? Maybe I could do it VERY gradually like 2oz cows milk to 5oz formula and take it from there

Leo is terrible with dairy!! This is my dilemma. He';s only had VERY small amounts of it so far as it makes his reflux worse, and it's yucky - very sour!! I've re-introduced yoghurts but he spews them back, thought about going soya but I don't want to make him worse in the long run. So I really don't know what to do about milk! I think I need to see his dietician

I hope this doesnt start a debate... but....
What are the benefits or waiting to introduce cow's milk? Why are we suppose to wait until 1? What about toddler formula? I know I may sound stupid but I havent even thought about this...

There is some debate even with doctors on this. It has to do with the protein in the millk and some other nutrients that the cow's milk might either have too much for the baby's system or not enough.
Kelly mom has a good article that explains BOTH sides.
kellymom.com :: Is it safe to use cow's milk or other milks as a supplement to breastfeeding?

I want Hudson to be completely weaned to cows milk at 12 months. So that probably means starting to introduce it at 10.5 or 11 months and ease into it a bit.

I will probably wait until Cohen is 12mo adjusted or eating more solids. He isn't eating enough solids right now to wean.

I did toddler formula with Hayden until he was two because he wasn't a great eater.

I'm planning on starting either cow or goat milk at 10 months, mixed with formula to ease into it.

I forgot to answer the other question! Sorry!

I am going to try the same thing I did with E. I'll start with 3/4 BM and 1/4 cow's milk for 4 days. Then I'll move to half and half for 4 days, 3/4 cow's 1/4 BM for 4 days after that and then 100% cow's. So in a little over 2 weeks time we'll be on cow's during his daytime feedings.

Probably when she turns 1. We'll start to switch her from formula to cow's milk. With Brett and Jordan, I did it slight before they turned 1 but it was after 11 months anyway. And only because they were weaning because of pregnancies. Brett decided he didn't like the milk when I was pregnant, even though I was barely pregnant and ended up m/c. And with Jordan my milk just dried up when I was 3 months along. We made it almost to 12 months. All of my other kids I waited until they turned 1.

I probably will try to introduce starting about 12-13 months old. If Kierson is anything like Elliana, and when it comes to food/drinks he is, he won't care for cow milk. I guess only time will tell. I'm in no hurry.

I was going to start her when she was 12 months, but I forgot that she'd probably have to get used to it first, so I guess I'll start her around 11 months and ease her into it.
