This can be anonymous! I was reading an article this morning and I am just curious if the "average" jean size for women today is accurate?
SO what size jeans do you wear?

Ooh I'm curious, too! When I was little, a size six was "sought after". Depending on the store, I'm usually a 2 or 4 petite (and they are still always too long )

I wear a size 4. I have heard that the average woman wears a size 12-14. Is that what you heard too?

you go girl!!!
I'm a size 8 but I feel the need to say that I am pretty tall!! l
PS it looks to me like our average so far is below average-id be willing to bet that is because more petite girls are more comfortable reporting their size..i'm just saying

I agree! I wouldn't report my jean size after i gave birth to my kiddos. Right after DS i was in a size 14 and for a year and a half almost 2 years to get to a 3 again, and with DD after her birth i was a 10/12. Which is crazy because 12 isn't anything to feel bad about or ashamed - it means your a curvy sexy woman.
i won't ever be smaller than a 3 again, because my hip bones are now much wider than they used to be.

I agree with this! I am on average a 14, I tend to buy bigger than I need because I like a looser fit. I'm not ashamed of my size even if I am bigger

Size is a funny thing. I am in no way a skinny girl. I have lots of curves and a butt. I think my height plays into it as well. If I was normal height, maybe I'd be in a different size. With the big booty, I run into the issue of fitting my butt into jeans, but then dealing with a gap in my waist. I have friends who I perceive to be thinner than me, but with their taller height, they are in a size 8 or 10. Like I said, sizes always baffle me

^It IS funny! You can find two women who are exactly the same size, but look completely different in their body type!

I am an idiot. I almost put 30+ because I wear a size 30/31. Then I looked at the rest of the poll and realized that no one would fit into a ten if we are talking waist sizes I'm have a 10 that I got from American Eagle a few months ago, but I'm probably closer to a 12 now
I need to get settled and start a work out routine. And not buy both flavors of ice cream for "dinne.r"

I was an 8 before I had Owen. Then I was a 10 after I had him. Now I am probably an 11 if they made it in anything but juniors b/c the 10 is too small, 12 is too big. I don't think I will ever see single digits again due to my C section pooch

^^ I've def got a different kind of 'pooch' too from my histo - even tho it was done both lapro and with a robot up "there" it shifted things differently then what was going on after DS - so i can understand in some way what a c-section does. Hey let's add pooch to the curves section doesn't mean you're any less hot or sexy - seriously - most guys don't really notice what we focus on.

My jeans are currently 9/10's in juniors. I really want to lose some more weight, but I haven't been good at all.

ITA, Kim and I were talking about this in chat last week!
I don't normally share my size bc I'm not happy with it, but here we go: I'm a size 12 currently. Sad enough I've only dropped 1 size since I got back in non-maternity jeans after Gabriel. I haven't been working on it like I could, tho. I'm eating out of stress a lot lately! I'd love to get back to my size 6-8 self like I was in college, which for me was ideal. I'm curvy and love it, but pre-baby my curves were in the right spots. I felt super comftorable and fit, not to mention self-confident (gasp!), when I was at that size. It seems about impossible though.
