what are things that you hear soon to be moms say that you have to at (whether internally or outright?)
A recent one for me is a soon to be mom that went to the DR and was told she was at 3cm and the baby would be here within the week...11 days later, she's still pregnant

I just giggle when I hear about their calm and organized plans of how they're going to do things -- they have no idea what's in store! Of course, I had the same logical, calm ideas before Betsy arrived.....how quickly things changed!

LOL at the 3 cm... I was 4 for 14 days before I finally went into labour (at 6cm)
soon to be moms that speak so badly of CIO.... I guess it doesn't make me but it makes me want to say... CIO doesn't have to mean put them in the room and never go back no matter what.... and it also makes me want to say after never sleeping longer than 45 mins in a row for 8 months you may say something different!!!

My hairdresser is pregnant and she asked how long till Logan STTN...I tried to evade so as not to scare her but ended up just telling her it was 9 months. She was like "oh that's not bad!"...bwahaha! I guess she thought he still wasn't STTN but I had to laugh. 9 months with no sleep. Oh, just wait...

I'm not sure if it was a so much as a , but I was in Target awhile ago (before I moved) and a very pregnant woman was with her hubby picking up baby items. She was looking at formula, and her husband said he thought she planned on nursing. She explained to him how she had to mix the formula into the breastmilk so that it would have the proper nutrition!
Other than that, the only soon to be mom I know is on facebook. What makes me giggle there was her countdown until 3 weeks before the due date when she expected her baby to be born. She was 1 a week late. Now, I kind of giggle when she posts asking why her 3 week old baby girl isn't STTN yet.

I guess what makes me giggle is when first time preggos who are only in the 1st tri act like they are ENORMOUS or exaggerate their symptoms (I guess it makes them feel more pregnant?). Yep, you still have a good 6 months left. If you're complaining and going on now, I can't wait to see what you are like at 30 weeks... or maybe I can

My step sister is due at any moment and her husband (after hearing me say that Caleb had just taken a 2hr nap) told me that he will not let his baby sleep at all during the day so that they will STTN........ ok......GL with that!

 Oh my, these are classic!
I haven't had any... but I do crack up at the remembrance of first time moms I knew saying how they were going to make sure the house was spotless "for their husbands" and so forth, and now that their kids are in their first years, their houses are almost as bad as mine

One my good friends and her husband are due in May. She keeps talking about being able to work from home immediately after the baby is born. Like the follow week. I remember being lucky if I got a shower before 5 on my maternity leave. I think I shocked her when I said, "One time I totaled up the amount of time I spent breastfeeding and it was equivalent to a full time job. And that is just the feeding part of the day...."

^^ that's funny Amanda... But...
I worked the WHOLE time! I think I had 4 days off after Kellen was born. So... it can be done (It's no fun! It's tiring, and I'm doing it again this round, too, but it can be done.)
Of course, it depends on what kind of work she does! The stuff I kept up with, I could do at any time of the day (teaching on-line and my typical business stuff).

ITA with Callie. I love hearing new soon-to-be-moms rant and rave about things that they swear up and down they will "NEVER" do...then 6 months later...they're usually singing a different tune!
I know I certainly do things I didn't think I would, but you have to figure out what works best for your child, not for your idealogical parenting lifestyle!

I'm with the "I'll Nevers". Drives me nuts!
My best friend growing up had her baby 8 weeks before I had Hailey. She "tried" to nurse but said I was nuts cause you don't bond with them while nursing, plus she didn't have any milk and couldnt understand why because all she was drinking was milk shakes!!!! She drove me nuts but it was worse when she had her second. When he was born I said to nurse him right away, I was just begging for him to at least get the colostrum. She said she couldnt nurse him cause her first needed soy! WHAT??? UGH

Well Gwynne, you ARE super woman!!!
She is a lawyer, and so very determined. I hope she cn. I know money will be tight for them, so I think that is why she needs to work. If she's not billing hours, she's not getting paid.

That's a good one, Nichole...
I had no such delusions I have a VERY high pain threshold, but I thought... "WHY?" so, I have ALWAYS requested an epi, but I told them to always make sure I'm like 6cm dilated before I actually get it

I have a very close friend/cousin, who will be TTC next year. She's very sweet and all but sees things certain ways and parenting seems so easy to her. I just can't wait until she has her own

The birth plan... They swear they are going to use this as though it is the bible - it is 10 pages long, they go into the room, give it to the nurse and 2 hours later, it is shredded on the floor...
Or the first time "very young" moms who just don't know how in the world they got pregnant...

I still think it is funny parents that have one young child ..... Oh my boy will play hockey...What happens if the child hates hockey ?? Or when people talk like you have no idea what it is like having a toddler or infant.
