Me and my hubby have been TTC for about 6 months. But just recently started using the ovulation testers and keeping track of tempatures and all that good stuff. January the 24th will makes our 1 year marriage anniversary so were both ready to have a baby. neither one of us has a child so this is our first time trying. i never use to keep up with my periods until recently, but as far as i knew they were always on time, but I never questioned I was preggers until now. according to the calendar im 7 days late, we bought a twin pack of HPT and they both only had one line . I know they say 99% but are they reliable? And whats the soonest a blood test can be done? Thanks in advance for any advice you can give. Tabby*
If you're a week late, a blood test should be able to be done now. Usually blood tests can be done before a hpt. This happened to me 2 cycles ago. I had been having around 25 day cycles...and then all of a sudden I had a 32 or so day cycle. I think what happened is that I ovulated late, for some strange reason, and that put my period late. However, since you have a history of being regular, it's hard to say.
It's also possible that a hpt just isn't working for you. That's been known to happen to pregnant women. I would talk to your doctor, if your period doesn't arrive soon, and get them to schedule you a blood test.
Hope this helps...Abi

Hi Tabby, first off, welcome to JM, and the TTC#1 message board. I think you should go in for a blood test. If you're a week late, I'd go see a Dr. Let us know how it goes. And yes, I agree, maybe the test you used wasn't sensitive enough? Which one did you use?
