yay so DH had his doc appointment this morning and while we were there Kara (our doc) told me that she wanted to talk to me about my charts! I forgot to print out the legend (dummy me) so she couldnt figure out what the Red boxes were (af) so I told her that and she said I'm irregular hmm what gave you that idea! I told her that I never O'd the cycle before last and last month even though I had a 28 day cycle. Sooo!!! She is sending me to another obgyn/infertility doctor!!! The office called and set up an appointment for me there so I go see them on Jan. 22 at 11am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy to be getting some answers!!! I asked her about getting blood drawn to test for PCOSbut she said the only thing blood work would show is insulin resistance but she said I can schedule a pelvic ultrasound to see if its possible for me to have PCOS. Now my question is...has anyone ever had one and does it hurt?? So now we are on our way to finding answers!!!! :

Ultrasounds don't hurt at all....they just run the thing on your tum...kinda the same as when you are pregnant. Also, remember that even if you have an ultrasound and there are no cysts, you could still have PCOS. I don't have any cysts but definitely have PCOS. The diagnosis should be made by looking at all your symptoms, your charts, bloodwork and ultrasound. Usually, just looking at one aspect isn't enough.

They will probably do a transvaginal ultrasound and they don't hurt at all. It's a condom covered wand that is really no big deal. I have had several of them now....

yeah the transvaginal ultrasounds are no big deal, but regular ultrasounds suck! lol You have to drink a bunch of water about a hour before your appointment and you CAN'T pee. THEN they do the ultrasound and press the wand all on your bladder *shudder* it's horrible lol

It's like a torture you trying to hold your pee and then the tech pushing you bladder with the thingy, it's horrible!!!
