Hi Ladies.
I had a hysteroscopy yesterday. Well, that is what I went in for, but it didn't quite turn out that way. The doctors thought I had a uterine polyp and suggested it be removed, that it could be preventing any egg from implanting. So they put me under, and when I woke up the doctor told me that she didn't remove it, that it wasn't a polyp. Instead, I appear to have a wall? (not sure how you say it in English). Septum? I don't know. Anyway, it doesn't completely divide my uterus in two, there is still space. She said that she left it 1) because she wanted to talk to me about it first and 2) if it is removed, it might cause scarring which would make it even more difficult to get pregnant. She said to keep trying for another 6-8 months and if it still doesn't work or if I get pregnant and miscarry, then they will consider removing it. But first they will need to do an MRI.
She said that I must have it since birth. I asked why wasn't I told about it when I did the egg donation years ago, and she said that they don't go through the uterus to get the eggs, which I didn't know.

My SIL has a wall as well, but her uterus is completely divided in two. She hasn't had any problems getting pregnant (one of those annoying people who thinks that as soon as anyone starts trying then it is garanteed that they will become pregnant). But she has a very-high risk pregnancy- stopped working after the 3rd month, now on bedrest.

Anyway, just thought everyone would like to know about my experience.
Anyone else have this type of wall? (or whatever the official name is).
Thanks,
Megan

I can imagine you were confused. If you aren't sure, call your doctors office. I never heard of that. Good luck!

I'm sorry about that news. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you go back before 8 months because you have a BFP!
