Thanks.

The active ingredient you're looking for is called guafenesin (sp???). You want to get about 600 mg a day, so 2 teaspons, three times a day, is best. I'd say start maybe 6 days before you expect to ovulate, then continue until maybe the day after. You have to make sure you drink plenty of water, though! This helps the CM as well. Don't get Robitussin DM or anything other than the original brand -- the only active ingredient should be the guafenesin. Anything else could dry you out. I used Wal-Tussin earlier this cycle (from Walgreen's) and saw amazing results.

I agree with the advice Erin gave. Don't get Robitussin with any letters after it. I've been using it for 2 cycles now in conjunction with Evening Primrose Oil. I can say that this past cycle, my 5th, was the first time I have had any kind of fertile looking cm EVER.....and I had a LOT. For 3 days plus. Good luck!!

Is it only the syrup kind? Because I cannot take any kind of cough syrup it makes me vomit. Can you take capsules? Does that even exist? Just curious...

Ditto Stefanie on the only active ingredient being guafenesin. This cycle is the first time i've tried using it and i had A LOT of EWCM, six days to be exact! But i'm not 100% sure it was from the robitussin. I'm going to continue using it for future cycles for sure though (if i'm not preggo this time). I got the Walmart brand called "Tussin." TCOYF recommends taking 2 tsp. 3 times daily. I didn't even take that much on most days and didn't drink a ton of water with it either.

Mucinex has the same stuff in it, guafenesin, and I've been told you can take that instead of using Robitussin. I'm not sure how much of it you would take, but again, the target amount you're looking for is 600 mg. Just make sure when you buy it that it doesn't have active ingredients that will dry you out!

If I don't get my BFP this cycle, I will probably try this next cycle because I don't get a lot of EWCM. Thanks girls!

I REFUSE to take robitussin syrup. I hate the taste. So I take Mucinex pills instead. that stuff makes my CM WATTTTTTTERY I MEAN GUSHY WATERY!
robitussin and mucinex work the same way... so i prefer mucinex pills over nasty syrup

preseed works as well.

Robitussin never made me drowsy while I was on it, but I made sure the box said non-drowsy.
