I don't mean "i googled it" - what I mean is, what motivated you in your TTC journey to come here?

For me, I went off BCP in July/August 2008. We weren't really "trying" at first. In fact, I was purposely not having sex between cd12-cd16 because in Med School I was taught most (if not all women) O'd between that period. I wanted to wait a few months of BCP for my periods to come back normally because I had been on seasonal, and so I wanted an idea of what was "normal" for me. In September we started actually trying, although I think of Novemer as when I was all out trying in terms of thinking about it. In December, DH and I went to Europe for three weeks and BD's practically twice a day. Although I never told him, I thought I would definitely get pregnant on this trip (after all, we were having tons of great bd'ing) and part of why I wasn't trying sooner (really trying) is because I thought this trip would be the perfect time - giving me a September '09 baby one year after being at work. (Wow, I was kind of anal and stupid with my plan, right?)

When we got back from that trip and tested I had a yeast infection for the first time ever. So I thought (of course), wow! this must be a sign of pregnancy. I googled "yeast infection" and "pregnancy" and ended up at the JM "am I pregnant board" - where I of course quickly came to the conclusion that I was definitely pregnant because:
I had a yeast infection
I had sex
I was peeing all the time (discounting that I drink a ton of water when I travel)
I had a stuffy nose (again, discounting because I had been traveling)
I was tired (again....)
I was energized
I was eating a lot
I was eating too little!

You get the point. So I quickly took a pregnancy test and then about five others. Got all BFNs. AF came the next day and I was heartbroken.

After that, I made my way over here. Where I learned that:

Every body is different
Lots of sex does not equal a baby
A little sex does not equal no baby

And so that's my story. What is yours?

You're a great writer! I especially love your list

DH and I decided we were going to come off BCP, but NT/NP. However, round about the middle of that very first cycle, I caught the baby fever. We BDd during the "normal" O timeframe (come to find out I don't usually O 'til CD 18!) a few times, but it was that very first time that brought me here. After BDing for our first time off BCP, I jumped out of bed at around 12 a.m. and found JM.

I wanted to do everything I could to have a baby, and since I didn't know anything more proactive than BDing, I wanted more. I figured there would be a set of boards out there for women trying to get pregnant, so "i googled it" and here I am!

I never would have known about Pre-Seed, Robitussin, B6, Luteal phases, or CHARTING!!! if I hadn't come here, and I'm so thankful!

My story is different. I got pg when we were NTNP. I was excited and scared at the same time. We weren't going to tell anyone, but I NEEDED TO TALK ABOUT IT. I was "googling" pregnancy so I could learn all about what to expect and somehow ended up registering for JM (and I never sign up for anything).

Well, I'm so glad that I found JM. It was the friends here that helped me through my loss and also through my TTC experience.

I learned that:
- losses are (unfortunately) very common
- it can take a while to get pg!

Our story is we've been married for 3 1/2 years and around the 2 year mark, I was very ready to TTC, however, DH's company got bought out, so things went on hold--we weren't sure if he'd still have his job. Around our 3 year anniversary (Oct 2008) we found out he got hired on--yay!!! So, my I stopped BCP after my Nov cycle.

We were pretty pumped about TTC, so we planned a "TTC vacation" to Cancun Jan 2009. We booked it during my "internet calculated ovulation days" which, silly me, I thought would be it and we'd have an October baby--and I'd be off for all the big holidays!!

Well, 4 months later, apparently I had NO CLUE about ovulation--and I'm a nurse! So, I found JM and have learned A TON--and am hoping for my BFP soon!!

OMG! That's exactly how I feel! I'm a urologist and I KNEW NOTHING about ovluation. Actually, correction, everything, and I mean everything I knew about ovulation and my reproductive system was wrong. Completely wrong. After I found this board, my DH (who is a firefighter) said to me "sweetie, I'm just confused, what exactly did you learn in med school and perhaps we should request a refund? I mean it's like me not knowing what fire looks like. This seems like basic health."

Sadly, he was right.

I was so frustrated b/c I had nobody to talk to about ttc...so I googled ttc message boards. I lurked for a bit but soon after I had a melt down at Target and I needed to vent to someone.

I learned that it is better to let your feelings out instead of holding them in...and you ladies have been a total lifeline for me

Its weird lol, but in early 2008, I got the flu and was out of work for 2 weeks. During that time I was bored and puttering around on the internet alot. I found myself looking at baby items on Babies R Us and other baby related things. I thought I was crazy. Why am I looking at these things? I wasn't ready to TTC, but I was ready to start thinking about it. It was at that point that I googled Waiting to try to concieve. JM appeared to be the only message board that had WTTC. I was a member there for a while, then went off the pill and started charting for birth control. I liked it alot better. And now we've been TTC for 8 months!

My first month off bc I had a 35 day cycle, which I wasn't expecting. I also had a lot of pregnancy symptoms (which I now know are the same as bc withdrawl symptoms), so of course, I thought I was pregnant. I was googling symptoms and I found the AIP board. I lurked for a while, but was dying to find out if I was pregnant, so I joined and listed all of my symptoms. Of course, I wasn't pregnant, but I felt better knowing other people are as obsessive as I am! Then I decided to see what else JM had to offer and I found this board and decided it was a good fit!
