I was listening to the radio today and they were on about romantic ways you met you husband/wife, people were ringing and texting in saying they met at a bar on holidays etc... so I decided to text in all I said on my text was "I met my husband at my nan's funeral" that was it and so about 5 min later I got a phone call from the radio asking would I go on and speak about it so I did. I told them that he was at my nan's funeral because he was friends with my cousin. After the funeral all the family went for food and drinks in a hotel he was there and we got talking. He was so sweet and afterwards he walked me home. The next day he rang to see how I was coping and he took me for a walk on the beach. We got togrther a few weeks later and that was 5 years ago and we have been married for 8 months now.
About half hr later they rang me saying I had won the competition about the most romantic meeting. I didn't even know it was a competition. So I won €50 gift voucher and I'm in a draw on friday for a weekend away.
So Please everyone keep yer fingers crossed.

So it got me thinking how did your meet DH/SO?

That is AWESOME!!!

We knew each other from work...we worked for different agencies, but our jobs had a ton of interaction. We really got to talking at the gym though....I was graduating with my master's and applying for jobs outside of law enforcement and outside the state of Texas, but I stayed here instead. Both of us knew after the first couple "dates" that we would be together.

That's awesome, fingers crossed for you!

My DH and I met through my aunt and his cousin, who are best friends. William and I had both just gotten out of serious relationships, but they had been wanting to set us up for a while. One night, my uncle, will's cousin's BF, and William were playing basketball at a local park, so my aunt called and told me I had to come up there and meet him! I went up there and watched him play basketball for a while and then after the game we talked for a while and exchanged numbers. Later that night he called me and invited me to go out on his boat the next day with my aunt, uncle, and his cousin! I of course said yes and we have been inseperable ever since. The day we met was August 19, 2006 and we were married on March 8, 2008!

This girl and I worked together in the kitchen at a nursing home. We got along really well and she is now my best friend. After about a year, she went to work in a local battery factory (paid a hell of a lot better than the nursing home).

6 months later, my now BF started working there (on her shift/line) and they became good friends. Then 6 months after that, she helped me get a job there and get assigned to her shift/line. So the 3 of us would have breaks together & such and occasionally go out to breakfast after work (we were mid-shift and got off at 7am).

Then one night she asked if I wanted to go to his house with her to hang out, drink, and watch some movies. Sounded fun & innocent enough so we went over there. We didn't even get through the credits of the first movie when she got a call from a "sick friend" and had to leave to go check on him, but said she'd be right back . . . she never came back. I was left there all night with him. Three months later, we moved in together and are now celebrating our 1 year anniversary.

DH and I actually met on the internet. We met for dinner and a movie about a week after we starting emailing and talking on the phone. That was in December of 2005 and by April of 2006 we were planning a wedding. August 19th 2006 we got married.

Congratulations Rebecca, that's amazing! I'll definitely keep my fingers crossed!

DH and I met because we were stationed in Okinawa, Japan, together. It was an office romance and was very hush-hush at the beginning, until we knew it was more than just a fling. We were really good friends before that, and when our news finally came out, people were happy for us.
