Hi everyone, I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself and say hi....HI
I'm 38 (yes 38) and BF and I are TTC. My Dr. says thats the best part...the trying... Anyway, we are both in our late 30's and feel that this is a good time in our lives to try. My questions to everyone out there:

- my cycles haven't been very regular over the past 6 months or so, ranging from 22 to 28 days, no continunity at all. Could I be peri-menopausal?
- with the irregular cycles.....how the heck can I figure out when I am fertile?
- how many of you out there are TTC late in life?

Hope ya'all have a great evening, and I'll be looking for some guidance.

Hi and welcome!!!

Only 38?? We adopted my son when I was 40, then got pregnant with my 2 daughters in the following 4 years. You're a babe in the woods

Seriously, good luck with TTC. There are some wonderful people here who will help you find the answers you need.

Good luck!

Welcome to JM! I'm sure you'll find answers to questions you'd never thought you'd ask on this board. The women are wonderful!

Just from reading other posts, there are many women over their 40's TTC their 1st all the way to their 4th so I'm sure they'll have some stories and advice to share with you.

Good luck TTC! Lots of **********baby dust************ to you!!

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies. I appreciate it.

One thing I didn't mention is that BF works out of town, and is only home once every 2 weeks. This makes it kind of difficult to conceive, but we make the most of it when he's home.

I'm hoping that one of these times that he's back will be the 'time'

Welcome to JM! There are a lot of ladies here that are in the same situation you are! Anyways you should check out fertilityfriend.com,,, each month you can chart everything, CM, CP, your temps, and when AF comes and it will help you figure out more when you are most fertile. Best of luck to you TTC!

Thanks KAT, I feel like such a dolt. You'd think at my age, I might know a thing or 2 about this whole game. I guess the only thing I know anything about might be the BD... About 2 years ago, I had a DVT, and immediately had to stop taking the BCP, and beleive me, up till about 3 or so months ago, I was 28 days like clockwork. Now I'm really worried with the changes to my cycle (anywhere from 22+ days) I might be heading into menopause and I might never get the chance to be the mommy that I deserve to be. I'll go and check out that web site.....
