Hey, everyone. I'm a newbie; and I'm not sure if I'm pregnant. My mom died when I was 17 and I'm not close enough with any other women IRL to ask them about this stuff. So I'm here!

Anyway, my fiance and I aren't exactly trying to have a child, but we're not trying NOT to, either . . . Right now it is in the "if it happens, it happens" stage; and we will probably try after our wedding next month.

This month, I've been tired constantly, and then a week ago I started getting odd pains in my abdomen . . . My period isn't due til the 9th, but I'm a worrier and I'm concerned that I might be pregnant and something is wrong. I don't know what's normal and what isn't . . . I called up the OBGYN and they told me that they can't get me in until the 15th . . . which seems like a long time when you worry a lot. And a long time when you spend too much time online reading about ectopic pregnancies and all of that . . . Eek.

So, my question is - These pains aren't anything severe . . . It's kind of a dull pain, I had a couple sharp pains in my left side a few days ago but they weren't too bad and went away within a minute. Now in the center of my abdomen I have a tight feeling and a little of a dull ache now and then . . . I slept for 13 hours yesterday and felt a lot better when I woke up, but now my stomach feels a little cramped up again . . . Just a really weird feeling - I don't know how else to describe it - not normal cramps or anything. I've been a little bloated the last couple weeks, too . . . which isn't a problem I normally have.

Is this something I should be worried about, or is this normal if I'm pregnant? Should I try to get in sooner, or wait until Friday and test then? I'd love to test now, but I think it's probably a little too early to get a good reading.

Thanks!

unfortunately, menstrual signs are very much like pregnancy signs. It isn't abnormal to having cramping in early pregnancy. Being tired is another sign as well. You could go get a home test, get a early one though. Some will let you test as much as 5 days early. I also suggest buying a digital that way there is not question in the results. Sometimes the regular test are difficult to read if they aren't blatant. Good Luck!

So I shouldn't be so concerned about this unless it's pretty bad pain? I just wasn't sure.

Hopefully I'll be here more often, if it's the case . . .

My due date would be Valentine's Day!

Funny, I'd be due the same as you. If it's a dull pain like a fist slightly grinding at you it could be a cyst. But usually the pain is constant and really sucks. I think you should try a home test and wait out the auntie flow. good luck!

Hi and - it can go either way - I have had dull aches and been tired just before AF shows up, but other ladies have complained of the same thing and got a BFP. One of the hallmarks of TTCing unfortunately is waiting. Good luck!!!!

Well, I got a little impatient today so the fiance and I went out and got a test - It was negative (is that BFN on here?) . . . but then AF isn't even due until Friday so it's also possible that it's early to tell.

No pain today, just a tight feeling in my tummy - I had a bad headache yesterday and almost threw up about 10 times . . . once at the post office, which wasn't very fun.

I'm just trying not to get my hopes up . . . that way I won't be as disappointed it it doesn't happen.

But I know I can't take a negative too seriously this early, before I'm even past due for AF.

First of all, hi and welcome. I would say its definitely too early to tell. Like everyone said..pregnancy symptoms can be a lot like af symptoms. Good luck! I hope to see more of you around here.

I just noticed some light spotting, which hasn't happened to me ever before . . .

Still trying to think negative, though - I hate getting my hopes up.
