Hey, this is my first post, and I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Elizabeth, I'm 22 and DH is 26. We are TTC #1. I went off BCP last month and this week would be my period. I had been taking the pills for 5 years before this and had very irregular heavy periods without the pills, I'm sure it will be the same now. Question is, should I test every month when my period hasn't come because I could go 5 or 6 months without a period before. I'm just confused. anyone have any suggestions, gone through something similar????
Hi Elizabeth, welcome!! My DH and I are also TTC #1, so maybe we will get a BFP together!! I don't really know what to tell you as far as testing each month, but I would reccomend that you start tracking how your cycles are each month, because it should give you a pretty good indicatiion of how your body is working and you may even be able to pick up on a pattern or recognize when you are ovulating! You might also consider buying an ovulation predictor kit. I picked one up at the local drug store and started using it (thsi is my first month TTC, I am a little bit impatient! ) and it showed positive results this evening for ovulating, so hopefully tonight is my night!! (I know, too much information!) Some of the other girls on here are really good at this kind of thing though and I am sure one of them will have a great answer for you!! Good luck to you and lots of baby dust your way!!
Welcome to JM Elizabeth!
There are a lot of women on this board that go through that same thing, having very irregular periods. Hopefully you can get some answers from them!
Also, you should just start charting so you can start to figure out your body better. It helps a lot! Best of luck TTC!!!
