I am at the point of having IUI's now and my Dr. recommends light activity during the 2ww. Walking, swimming or light cycling. I usually work out 6 days a week running, Chalean Extreme, and Turbo Jam. That is way more than what he wants me doing. I am also underweight technically and that worries me. I am beginning to think I need to put on weight in order to get pregnant. I just dont really know what to do with my work outs. Its frustrating.

I see. That makes sense. I bet it drives you crazy, though. I'm an avid runner, too. And before we started TTC, I was borderline underweight. I started cutting back on running, out of training mode and no long runs each week. I'm running about every day still (or using our elliptical), but I keep it at 3-4 miles/day at a comfortable pace. I started forcing more calories in my body, too. I gained three pounds, putting me at a good weight for TTC.

Last cycle was so stressful for me, and I ended up losing 2 pounds, totally unintentionally. I also think that the B6 I've been taking has boosted my metabolism even more. So now I'm trying to gain those couple pounds back again. It seems so counterintuitive, though.

I hope all your discipline will yield a BFP for you very soon.

I cut out tea, coffee, soda, artificial sweeteners, decaf coffee too, my mother(hehe she smokes heavily so I don't let her smoke around me any longer) most alcohol, except as others said, I will drink during AF occasionally, I don't exercise much during the tww, sweets/chocolate, ibuprofin, green tea too as it messes with folic acid absorption, hmm I can't think of anything else right now. I pretty much just chug water and try to eat healthy and take a handful of vitamins

I use honey in my tea. I was also given a bottle of agave syrup to try and I've been putting that in my cereal. I don't do artificial sweeteners, but I don't do refined sugar either. I've read that the sucralose that Splenda is made from is bad for you, but I just can't get into Stevia. I find it really disgusting.

I gave up artificial sweetener as well. I do still drink coffee...just not as much. Oncei get a BFP, I know it will be easier to quit all together.

Elle and junie - I am with you on the working out thing. When we first started ttc I was hardly working out during my tww and from doing that I gained a couple pounds. Now that it has been taking us so long to conceive I decided not to worry so much and continue on with my workouts as normal. I run as well and cut back to running only 1 or 2 days a week and find other cardio and weights the rest of week. I have a hard time cutting back my workouts because I don't have the same problem with being under weight, my problem is that I gain weight to easily so I have to really watch what i eat and exercise.

I only use natural cleaning products and laundry soap, no fabric softeners, changed my shampoo and body wash to an organic bar of soap with no scent. No more lotion...I've been using coconut oil and olive oil to moisturize my skin with. I switched deodorant to a deodorant stone hopefully some of these changes will help.

I used to chew Dentyne Ice gum everyday and I recently switched to glee natural gum...and I feel a huge difference.

I bought a ton of gluten free snack foods this weekend to try and start a gluten free diet.

I drink decaffeinated iced tea. I used to drink 2-3 cokes a week...but I only drink coke if we have pizza...which we haven't had in a long time.

As far as exercise goes, I really need to increase it. I don't have a car, so naturally I do walk a little bit more to get to bus stops or final destinations from a point of transit. I also have a job that demands I stand for 8 hours, which, I have to admit, is another reason to exercise so I can keep my legs strong and endure all the standing. This is going to sound lame, but I don't have proper workout gear particularly decent shoes and pants of some kind, so I feel like I can't go until I've sorted those out. I really need to get on that though because the times that I have made an effort to exercise I feel so much better.
