hey ladies! sorry i've been away. Well i did my 3 more rounds with clomid with no success. So i have an appt to see my gyne to get a referral to go to a infertility specialist. He said there's nothing more that he can do. I know a few of you have been here. I'm not sure what to expect when i go see this dr. I'm a little nervous. I'll be making my appt tomorrow. I guess i'd like to know what can I expect at my appts. What's the process you've all been through. I'll keep everyone updated. I won't be a stranger anymore.
Thanks in advance to all you ladies for thoughts comments and support.
I just had my first RE appointment a few weeks ago...after 3 years of TTC, we decided it was time. I know every doctor and practice is different, but for our appointment, it started out with a ton of paperwork (we did most of it ahead of time). Then, DH and I both got weighed, blood pressure tested. Then we met with the doctor for a consult. It lasted about an hour. She asked about our history, and confirmed some things on the paperwork, then explained the process for determining what course to take. Both me and DH needed some additional testing (me = HSG and bloodwork, DH = updated SA). She said that once she gets the results back from all of our tests, THEN we would make another appointment to discuss our game plan and the treatment options. So, she didn't discuss IUI, IVF, or any treatments at this time. Then the doctor did a vaginal ultrasound to just take a look. After the doctor left, the financial peeps came in to review what our insurance will and will not cover for treatments.
That was it for the first appointment. I was a bit nervous too, but it was all fine. Don't be nervous!
