Hello,

here is the results of DH's SA:

Ph : 7.0
Volume : 4.5 ml
Numeration :
Spermatozoïdes (millions per ml) : 32.60
Round cells(millions per ml) : 0.1
Leucocytes (millions per ml) : 0.2

Mobilty :
Mobility after 1 hour : 60%
Mobility after 3 hour : 50%
Mobility after 6 hour : 50%

Vivality: (Williams Test)
Spermatozoids surviving after 1 hour: 67%

Abnormal forms (Total): 16%
Head abnormalities: 9%
Tail abnormalities: 7%

The doctor says everything is perfectly normal...although I feel unsure as he is just a regular GP (he prescribed the test)

Does anyone have any thoughts?

We BD every day during fertile period..;I wonder if it should be every other day?

I don't have any experience with SAs, but I know a couple of women on here do. So I hope they respond to your post.

If the SA is normal, then BD every day shouldn't be a problem. However, you'd be just as likely to conceive if you BD every other day leading up to your O day.

Our pattern was always to BD every third day until I started getting closer to O, then every other day, and then we would BD every day of a +OPK and the day after (which was generally O day).

Thanks Adrienne!

We're considering having the results looked at by a specialist...hopefully we wont have to if I get lucky this cycle!

Sorry, I don't know about SA's either, but if they are normal! I'm sure you'll get some responses from girls who can actually help you interpret your results.

The language your doc uses is a bit different than what I'm used to but his numbers look great! His volume is double what it should be (2ml is normal) and his count per ml being 32.60 is awesome too, you want 20 mil per ml. And motility should be at least 50% which his is bang on. So, if you want your total sperm concentration, you take the 4.5vol x 32.60 count x 50% = 73.35 spermies swimming towards your egg! So if you take 16% less for abnormalities, that's still over 61 million swimmers

PH should be between 7.2 and 7.8 which he's very close to and different docs/websites will give you slightly different ranges that they consider "normal". So your hubbies numbers are great!

You'd think that one of these 61 million spermies could have caught that egg by now!!!

I know right?? Even when someone has a low count of like 500,000 or something, that still seems like a lot of potential doesn't it?!?

yup! Those numbers look very healthy!

As an example of a not so healthy SA...my husband's first SA looked like this:

Volume 1.5 (should be >2.0)
Motility 31% (should be >50%)
Morphology 0% (should be >15%)
Total cc 5.1 (should be >20 million)

And his latest (third) SA after being on Clomid for 6 months, IS showing improvement, but looks like this - and our doc has said as of right now (without DH having a varicocele surgery done) our only option is still IVF...but we do have an RE appointment on tuesday to see if there are any other options..anyways:

Volume 1.5 (should be >2.0)
Motility 66%!! (should be >50%)
Morphology 5%!! (should be >15%, but hey, it raised from 0!)
Total cc 5.1 (should be >20 million)

So - just to give you an idea - your hubby's SA looks awesome! Not sure how long you've been TTC but it really does take time - even with two very healthy people. Are you charting at all? While I myself gave up full charting (I just chart my cycle days and use OPK's) it really does help to get to know your body and your cycle.

Good luck!!

This is our 6th cycyle (just 1 charting). I know that it takes time, and that 6 months is not that long...but it can seem like an ETERNITY when you're hoping and praying and waiting!
But I dont need to tell any of us that!!! We already know it!

Good luck to you too!
