I took it back in October to start my period after being on the Lupron Depot shot. My period started as it should after taking the medicine. That period was quite heavy.

Ok thanks. My Dr prescribed it to me because I have been having extremely heavy periods (bad clotting) so she wanted me to take on CD 2 for 10 days. I finished last night and am on CD 12 and wondering if it will interfere with my ovulation?

I'm not sure why it would be prescribed for CD 2. My understanding is that Provera is taken if you have a really long cycle to bring on your period. There must be another use that I'm not aware of?

I took progesterone (prometrium...kinda like provera) to induce a period this last cycle. When doing tons of research about it online I actually came across several message boards with women on it saying that they had been prescribed to take provera on certain cycle days. I never really could find out why but I saw it enough times to take notice. Perhaps google it and see if you can find out more about why your RE would want you to take it on those days.

Good luck!

I've only heard of it being used to induce a period as well, never on CD2. Have you tried taking baby aspirin for the heaviness and clotting? I used to have only brown clots for a periods and now that I take baby aspirin every day I actually get red flow. It's recommended for IVF patients to take to prevent clotting as well so it is doctor approved

I started taking baby aspirin last cycle. It helped in just one cycle! I used to have thick, goopy AF but this last cycle it was bright red and not goopy at all!
