Hi ladies,
Just wanted to let you all know that I’ll be taking a break from all things TTC for a month.
DH and I have a month-long vacation planned from 3 Feb until 3 March in sunny South Africa. (DH is French, and I’m South African, so its my yearly visit back home to see my family).
We’ve rented an apartment, literally on the beach, and it’s the middle of summer down there, so we expect some hot weather!
These past 6 months have taken their toll on us: The stress over temps, the OPKs, the sex on demand…all of it! The endless grief over the countless BFNs have only added to the misery. We’re both so tired.
So we’ve decided to take a month’s break. We’re not charting, not using OPKs…nothing. Well BD when we want, not when we have to, and if that’s not during my ‘fertile time’…then too bad!
As much as I hate the thought of not being in the November DDC…its something I have to do for the sake of my sanity.
Unfortunately our rented apartment doesn’t have internet access (to contribute to the state of relaxation).., so I’ll be MIA from the forum for a bit.
I just want to say a big ‘thank you’ to the ladies on this forum, who’ve helped me find answers to questions I had, and comforted me when I was down and out. Thanks also for letting me rant and vent. You have no idea how much I’ve learned on this board.
I hope that by the time I come back, many of you will have graduated and I wish you all the best of luck in your TTC journeys.

Have an amazing time on your vacation, and enjoy your break from TTC! We all need to step back once in a while, and there's no better excuse than a month-long vacation on the beach! Hope it brings you the rest and relaxation you need. And I'm looking forward to hearing all about it when you get back!

Have a wonderful time on your trip! Sometimes a vacation is exactly what you need!!! I hope when you come back you will be stress free and relaxed...and you never no, vacations seem to be medicine to getting that BPF!!!

Chantal, I have to say first, have a fantastic trip! A month away is amazing!!!
Next, I took a break from all things ttc for awhile too. JM, temping, OPK's, I even stopped us from BD'ing because I needed a month of not being upset because I wasn't pg, I thought if we didn't ttc then I had nothing to be upset about and I have to say it was THE BEST thing for me and for us! The much needed break has brought me back to being positive, hopeful, not so bitter and all those other feelings that come along with ttc, so I think your trip will do wonders for you on so many levels!!!

Have a great time on your trip! I'm so jealous of a month on the beach! It sounds like a break is just what you need and I hope that you end up with the best souvineir of all: a surprise BFP!

Wow!!! What an exciting sounding trip!!! 
I hope you have a wonderfully relaxing time away from the rat race of real life. I hope reconnecting with your family will recharge your spirit and that the block of time with DH and no normal Day to Day stuff will allow you to connect that much more!
Bring back TONS of pics!!! We'll all be dying to see your month in So. Africa!!

I hope you have a wonderful trip! I hope that the time away and the time spent with family reenergizes you. TTC can be exhausting and we all need to take a break once in awhile. Enjoy and post pics when you return if you would like!
