Hi Ladies!
Well, we are back from our RE appointment. I am very excited to report that we have a plan! Here's how it breaks down:
First, my tests revealed that my tubes are both open, and from what they can tell, normal. They aren't sure about my uterus, and though they have no reason to believe it's abnormal, they are doing a water test (SHG?) next week sometime. She also found that I am likely not producing enough good eggs.
DH's swimmers are mostly normal, though the morphology number was a little low.
Since I am currently 9 DPO (FF put my crosshairs back today!), it was too early to do a pregnancy test, but I am going in Friday to have one done.
But the big news is that we are moving forward with IVF!
She didn't really see any other option, other than keep trying on our own, but with our history, and our test results, that IVF was pretty much our only option. She said the best way was to use donor eggs, but she recommended we try mine first, and see what happens.
So, here's our plan. We got really lucky that I was at the exact right time in my cycle. We are starting today!
Today - got progesterone blood draw for me, and DH got blood drawn too, but I honestly can't remember what for. Once they test my blood, they will determine if I need to start on estrogen pills. If I do, they are calling them into the pharmacy.
Wednesday - we go in at 230 for our "class" or our orientation. There they will explain everything in more detail, go through all the medications, give us training on how to do the shots, help us with a calendar for all the meds, appts, important dates, etc.
Friday - pg test, just in case
Then if AF arrives as scheduled, next week I will call for my water test.
Following that, we will start the meds, which will include daily shots, then we wait for the egg retrieval and go from there.
This is so terribly exciting. We are both in shock that we are actually doing this. But we have waited so long, and we are just so ready. Our insurance covers NOTHING, so we are basically using all of our nest eggs for this cycle. We have enough to cover the treatment and the meds for ONE cycle only. We just have to hope for the best.
So, that's my update, that's our plan. We are very excited to be starting this new phase of our long journey to becoming parents.
Thanks for all the love and support...I don't know what I would have done the past 3 years without you ladies.
Stay tuned for updates!
xxoo
