I started reading this book called The Infertility Survival Handbook! by Elizabeth Swire Falker! its REALLY good!!! its VERY informative on how to find a good RE and what to expect! like tests, diagnosis ect. I would suggest reading it even if you aren't quite to the whole RE MA stuff... just thought I would let you know!

I think its a good read and informative... the lady went through it all herself too... and she explains things a lot better then a doctor does imo! she breaks things down so that you can understand what the procedure is and the recovery time and in some cases what to expect for the cost... if you are worried about buying it I would go get it at the library and read it first! thats what I am doing... and now I really want to buy it! I just think its a good book to have on hand... she has lists of questions to ask RE's when you are interviewing them to see if they are the right fit for you! and the lab and the doctors that take care of your eggs and sperm... but I HIGHLY recommend this book! Im not done with it yet... but I already see the value in this book!

Jess - this book sounds great! Given that I'm just about to start IVF, do you think this will be helpful still? That is, I already have my RE, have already been explained all the "stuff", etc. Do you still think it's worth reading at this point for me? If so, I'm ordering today!

Karin I think its a good book the last chapter I read was about paying for IVF and everything else... and insurance! I WOULD HIGHLY recommend you getting it still Karin! before you get IVF done! just my two cents!

oh she also talks about how to give your shots and where to give them!

AWESOME. Just ordered it, will be here on Friday. Shots start Saturday, so this might be reallllllly nice to have...especially for the couple days when DH has to travel and I have to figure out how the HE** i'm going to stick myself with needles

Ok, I have to post this here. I ordered this book. I got it yesterday.

I AM SO GLAD YOU RECOMMENDED THIS BOOK!!!!!

I think this book made more sense to me than anything I've ever read, been told, etc. I already told DH he needs to read one of the chapters on IVF. I chewed through a healthy portion of the book last night.

I will ditto what Jess said - if you are considering MA, this is a must read. I got mine on Amazon for just under $11.
