Hi ladies!
Does anyone remember me?! I definitely see some new faces around here. I've been on a JM break for a few months to keep myself from going crazy.
To do a quick update on me, we saw 3 REs in October. One thought I had PCOS and wanted us to go straight to Mini IVF. (I have zero PCOS symptoms). The second one thought the first was crazy and that he recommends I have a diagnostic laparoscopy to rule out any pelvic conditions before moving forward with IUI or injectables. The third felt similarly to the second, but I didn't like him as much. We decided to have the Lap with the second RE we saw. We waited until after the first of the year so I could use my medical flexible spending account through work to pay for the deductible.
After months of waiting ( I hate waiting!) I finally had the surgery on February 1st. They found Stage 3 endometriosis, adhesions, and part of my bowel was attached to one of my ovaries. I'm not sure how bad it really is since I had no symptoms of endo prior to having this surgery. DH talked to the doc since I was still pretty out of it so I only have the information as he remembers it. We go back in next week for a follow up, but I can't tell if I should be excited about having all that crap cleared out, or terrified that it's going to grow back.
I've been trying to research the likelihood of pregnancy after a LAP without more MA, but I know that can depend on a lot of different things and to not get my hopes up too much. I should just chill out and wait to hear what the doc says at our follow-up, but when have we ever done what we're supposed to? Anyway, I'm going to try to be around more now, and hopefully the doc gives us good odds so we can get trying again full force!

oh wow! quick question - did you have any issues with your cycles before finding out you had a blocked tube? our RE told us our only option is IVF (but we are also dealing with pretty bad male factor)...
and I have one blocked tube. I have NO symptoms of PCOS other than having been diagnosed with Insulin Resistance in 2007...i've been on metformin since October of 07' but I have very regular periods with positive OPK's on the 14th of every month...now I do have spotting before periods, but that's all...
SO now that I've given you my medical history (lol) I'm just curious if you had any of the same symptoms that I do...since I really don't HAVE any symptoms...I know I need to call our RE back and have some tests done due to the spotting...
anyways welcome back!

Hey!
I had the HSG over summer and had ZERO idea they would find anything. I actually was a total emotional mess when they told me my tube was blocked. I had NO idea at all. Nothing in my history ever would have indicated there could be a problem. The same could be said for the endo. However, looking back, I did have spotting before each period, just for a day, but still spotting. I actually thought it was normal. I have no idea why the one RE I saw suggested PCOS, like you I had NO symptoms, not even the Insulin thing. I suspect that if your RE suggested IVF it was maybe due to the Male Factor, since many women get pregnant with only one tube. I know that if I was forking over the money for IVF, I'd want to make sure that everything on my end was clear and all possible tests were run and we know exactly what we're dealing with on both ends (mine and his). Whew, that was long, sorry!! Did I answer your questions?

that definitely helps!!
As I'm sure you did - I hope and pray that there ISN'T anything else wrong on my end...again - NO true symptoms...to speak of...but my mother had endo. I do NOT have painful periods or anything...but of course I've not been tested for ANYTHING other than the hsg...I do have my first acupuncture appointment on saturday. the acupuncturist is actually part OF my fertility clinic. so i will talk with them and then call to see what they may be able to test...

Welcome Back!!
I was in a similar boat. I had my HSG and found I had one blocked tube. It wasn't until after I woke up from my lap surgery that I found out he had removed a slight bit of endo from me... I had zero endo symptoms as well. Now he did say it was very very mild, but there are lots of women who have mild endo and really bad symptoms... So it can go either way.
I know I have worried about it growing back or my tube closing back up, but when I mentioned that concern, he seemed very certain that I shouldn't worry TOO much about that.
I can relate to hearing results from DH because you're all groggy and whatnot too... I did the same as you, waited for my follow up and got all the details. My RE gave us before and after photos, so at least I had those to look at while I waited! Not that they made much sense!!
Can't wait to hear about your follow up!
