So as the title says...my first acupuncture appointment was this morning! I didn't have a very long session - it was only 5 minutes for the actual acupuncture itself. AF is about to be here, any day now - so she said they prefer to do the full session NOT during AF. So I'm going back in two weeks for my first FULL session.
But we talked a lot about the weight loss and the fertility issues...and she asked if I've had any blood work done. NOPE none what.so.ever. And honestly that's been frustrating because it seems as if they've been concentrating on 'fixing' my husband and nothing about ME other than the hSG test I had last year (showing the blocked tube)...but I think my docs haven't been overly concerned
because I DO have a 'normal' cycle and +opk's on the 14th day...
SO. she told me I def. need to call the RE and get blood work done - I'm not sure exactly what FOR (so if you guys have any help on this I'd appreciate to know what to ask for and not sound like an idiot when I call! lol)
I am going to try something this week - as my diet goes...yesterday I was down 5 pounds in 2 weeks...last night we went out for dinner at Buca Di Beppo. I THOUGHT I did well...I had veal saltimbucoo (sauteed veal layered with fresh sage and prosciutto, artichoke hearts, lemon butter sauce and capers.) BUT I also had some of the chopped antipasto salad and mozarella caprese (just tomatoes, olive oil, basil and mozarella). And I had a glass of wine at dinner. Then we went out to a blues bar and I did NOT want to drink...but I did have
one vodka diet, then 2 hours in I had a sugar free red bull, then I stuck with diet cokes and probably ended up drinking FOUR glasses.
I do NOT drink a lot of diet pop. When I got on the scale this morning - I'd GAINED back 3.5 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I KNOW that it's all the sodium and water retention. I KNOW that's what it was.
So As of this morning I'm off the diet pop (which I also just bought one of those awesome soda streams...and i've been hitting that too much lately, too...so laying off that too!) as well as coffee. I'm getting rid of caffeine this week. I'm going back to my unsweetened coconut milk and protein shake breakfasts (with my eggs and sausage).
so anywayyyyyyys. that's what's going on with me right now. calling my RE monday about blood work and really gettin' off the diet pop and caffeine!
