Toady is cd3 and my second day of bbt charting ever....and I'm confused whether I can rely on my thermometer! I have a yellow reli-on brand for household use but I never thought it was super reliable so I went and bought the basal one at Walmart, measures to 100th. Yesterday it was 96.56 at 7 am. I used it later in the day along with the yellow one just to see if they were the same and they were.

So today at 7 am.....basal read 97.3.....waaay higher than yesterday, and oddly exactly what is was yesterday afternoon in my test. Thought I did something wrong so retook it and still 97.3. Went back to sleep for a bit as I was feeling sick, took it again when I woke up just to see and it was 97.7! Got up to go pee and used the yellow one and it said 96.4. I have no idea what is accurate? Luckily it's so early in my cycle I can get this figured out!

I would just take your temp right when you wake up, before you get out of bed, using only your BBT, and chart that temperature. It can get really confusing if you try and take your temp multiple times throughout the day, and trying to compare to "normal" therms. Just use the first temp right when you wake up!

And wanted to add...make sure to only use the bbt when you temp...when I first stared I used a regular thermometer and when I switched to a bbt I could see a total difference in my chart.
Good luck!!

Thanks ladies, will do! I think my temp was up the 2 nd day because I wasn't feeling too great, and I had on really thick sweatpants but normally my legs are cold at night! It was back down today.
