Hi there,
Your body is still regulating after coming off BCP. I know you've had regular cycles in the past, but your body is adjusting to life without BCP. If your CM is accurate, it seems like your body has been trying to O a couple times, but hasn't quite done so yet. If you're using the FF mobile app, it will put in an anticipated O date, but that's just based off historical cycles. Since you just started charting, it doesn't have anything to go from, so it's probably arbitrary.
Remember, it can take up to 6 months (sometimes even more!) for your body to get back to regular cycles after being on birth control. Some ladies do not have regular 28 day cycles either...some have much, much longer cycles, and some have very irregular or inconsistent cycles. Since you have been on BCP, you really don't know what your body would "really" do without the hormones, so you don't know what is "normal".
It might not hurt to take OPKs. They are really useful in detecting the surge, and you will at least know if you are getting close. I would recommend using them starting now, and testing 2x a day - first with SMU and second later in the day/early evening.
I know it's frustrating, but your body needs time to sort itself out.
It could. You don't have any historical cycles, so it doesn't really know what to do. It's going off what it sees as far as temps and CM are concerned. Your CM has indicated that you may have been about to O first around CD 11-12, then again around CD 17, and now again around CD 20-21. Your temps aren't really showing any trends, so it's probably mostly using CM. Because your CM has been just as inconsistent as your temps, FF doesn't really know what to make of it all, so is doing the best it can. The CD 33 estimate may be coming from your first cycle that you charted, which ended up being 47 days long. Hard to say, but I wouldn't put too much stock in that estimate, personally.
You need to keep really good track of your CM, since FF seems to be using that to estimate your fertile time. FF is saying you might have O'ed between CD 17 and 19 because it saw fertile CM on CD 17 (EWCM), then it saw that your CM had dried up immediately following that. That is sometimes a sign of O - fertile CM immediately followed by dry. It saw that, didn't have anything temp-wise to go on or confirm it, so it says you "may" have O'ed. It's not giving you cross hairs because your temps are not indicating that you have O'ed yet at all. Now, it sees more fertile CM on CD 20-21, so it doesn't really know what to do.
Ditto what Karin said about trying OPKs. A pos OPK means your body is gearing up to O within about 12 to 36 hrs. Like Karin said, its best to test twice a day as the surge can come and go within 12hrs and could be missed. A positive OPK still doesnt guarantee that your body will go through with the O but its worth getting down to BD pronto!!
I agree in not looking at what FF is estimating. It really has nothing to base the estimate in besides the length of your cycle. It's probably estimating that you will O on CD33 based on your last cycle length and estimating your LP
It almost looked like you could have O'ed CD20 based on EWCM and a temp rise but FF will not give you CH until it can confirm O. If your temps climb and stay elevated for 3 days them FF will give you CH.
I would really recommend you using OPKs. I would just keep charting and BDing and see what the rest of the cycle does. Like Karin said since you are coming off of the BCP it may take a while for your body to regulate.
Karin- thankyou that definitely helps. I guess we will have to keep BDing until FF decides to give me crosshair; whenever that may be haha
LouLou- I am about to buy OPKs because FF is going crazy on me LoL (:
Sophie- I temp at 7:40am everymorning, there were two days at the beginning where I was temping at 10am but that was the very 1st two days of temping and from day 3 and on, I was temping at 7:40am everyday. Should I delete the first two days? It might be confusing FF-you think??
Thank you ladies! I'm just like really CD 22 and i still havent O'ed?!? whaaa!!! but I guess thats just my luck
Don't worry, it's perfectly normal. If you want to exclude your first 2 temps, you can go into FF and check the "discard" box next to the temp for each of those days. Probably won't make much of a difference either way, but since you know they are bogus temps from the time you took them, it doesn't hurt.
Dawn- sounds like OPK is really the best thing for me at this point so I might just invest in those asap!!
Karin- you're amazing and so very smart!!
Thank you so much ladies! I was just looking at my chart and couldnt understand all the different days it said I O'ed. I was thinking "there is no way that I can O this many times in one cycle..." but thank you so much ladies because now I understand the importance of OPK- you ladies are AWESOME!!!
Hon, did you change your AF start date? If you want, you can discard the temps, but do not discard the dates...it will throw off your cycle. Right now, it's looking like you started AF 2 days later than you really did. That is going to throw off FF's calculations. Make sure you still track every day of your cycle, even if you discard the temps (only the temps)!
Have you read Taking Charge of Your Fertility? It's a great book to introduce you into charting and helped me a TON! Not saying our bodies wont throw us curve balls (hell mine did last month!) but the book really helps as so the lovely ladies here.
Megan, I ditto what everyone else said, but just wanted to add to take a deep breath and hang in there. You are very early off of BCP and things can be a little whacky! Just remember that in the best of circumstances you only have a 20% chance of getting pregnant every month that you try.
Also, I hate this advice, but keep at it and it will happen (in most circumstances). I know it might be a little skewed on this board because there are a lot of us that have been trying for a long time, but remember for the few of us that remain, hundreds have moved on to become pregnant.
Hi KarJer10, thank you so much!! I actually found most of them off of websites but there is a blinkie request spot board. The one thats yellow and green and says "praying for baby richards" was requested from Kerian. You can go to my flickr account and steal some of the blinkies I have on there.
