So I went to see my GP this evening, not going with any expectations that he'd be able to DO anything for me right now (NHS guidelines are usually no testing until after 12 months of trying), I more just went for reassurance that were doing what we can for now. Anywho, after a chat he suggested doing some bloodwork...so he has given me request forms for the following:
CD2/3 or 4
LH, FSH, ?Prolactin
Thyroid
CD25 (7 days before AF due)
Progesterone
He has also suggested that he could arrange an SA for my SO but he'd have to arrange an appointment to go discuss it first.
I'm REALLY pleased, as much as i know we've not been trying long, I'm the sort of person that needs to feel like im actively doing something (apart from the obvious ) so this makes me . I've just got to speak to my SO about the SA, im not sure what hes going to say as I asked the Doc and he will have to go and 'do the deed' as it were, in the hospital. I shall see.
Either way im really happy and now i've just got to find a way of fitting in the testing around my new job which starts on Monday. Wanted to share with you guys

Yay, thats good!!! Your right about GPs not normally wanting to be involved untill 12 months I didnt ask for help but she kept reminding me!!
Hope SO is onboard.
I know it sounds silly but the things I did diff this cycle and last were eating 'Superfruits' (blueberry) and drinking fresh lemon and honey everyday up untill O.
Good luck with it all I'll be stalking you
Oh and best of luck staring your new job on Monday
Yay Jen, That's wonderful news! Hopefully you'll get the answers you need to get your BFP sooner!

That's great that you're able to start getting some testing done. I'm the same type of person, I want to make sure we're doing everything we can, so I totally understand! Keep us updated on the results!

Thanks ladies, I'm really pleased, especially since I'd gone for a chat and reassurance really!
I had a chat with my SO last night, he's happy to go for the SA! Yay! I've said ill make him an appt with the GP to go discuss it and then hopefully hell do the referral to the hospital and well just have to wait for an appt to come through! I was really surprised he agreed so quickly, he can be a bit squeemish about TTC at times and feels that it'll happen when it happens!
Ill definately keep you all posted with how it goes!

I think it's great docs are willing to do these simple tests and not waiting for a year of ttc because really, depending on results a couple may find out that no matter what they did on their own it wouldn't work! Why not get them help earlier if that's the case?

I agree, in this case I'm not sure if they'd be able to refer us to a fertility Dr before the 12 month mark even if they did find something but at least I dont have to wait for the 12 month mark to find out and it then take a couple of months for the first tests.
I'm really pleased Rob is on board, I'm just having issues figuring out whether im going to be able to go get my bloods drawn this coming monday as its my first day of my new job! I may have to begrudgingly wait until next cycle
