Hi all,
I have been off the pill for 5 cycles now, and while we haven't been trying yet for a baby, we are about to start in a week or so. I have been charting and temping to get familiar with my body's cycles, and I have noticed that while I experience all the normal types of CM, I have yet to have EWCM. I have however had watery CM which is good.
I have been charting on FF and have found that it is pretty accurate when I am going to O, get AF, etc. I also have had several positive OPK so I know I am ovulating, but I am just wondering if anyone else has a lack of/complete absence of EWCM? I am worried that this might reduce the chance that I have of conceiving?

Honestly I have no EWCM unless I drink tea! About 2 cups a day, not water, not anything other liquid helps me but tea! Can also look into Robitussin

I tried Robitussin a while back and it worked quite well for me. I really need to go back to it.
I've also seen other girls post about grapefruit juice and baby carrots. I don't have any personal knowledge on either of those, but you could certainly Google them.

and I'm Dawn and I lack in finding EWCM. So far the only thing that helps a little bit is mucinex... Last cycle, mid-cycle I started eatting baby carrots and taking Evening Primrose Oil but it didn't do anything but maybe becuse I started taking it late. This cycle, from the beginning I am continuing EPO, baby carrots, and just added grapefruit juice. So far nothing but I typically don't until after CD15 and it's only CD10 but can KUP if I see any. If this doesn't work I'm not sure what to do next.
I did mention this to my OB doctor but she really didn't seem to concerned. Good luck but it sounds like you are on the right track!

Thanks for the suggestions, ladies! I will definitely try the Robitussin/Mucinex route. It looks like it is recommended about 5-6 days before O so I will go and buy a bottle tomorrow!

I'm in the same boat. There have been a couple months where I've had EWCM but generally speaking I'm lacking. I tried the EPO, but didn't see results with that (and my doctor told me I should personally not take it). I bought some Robitussin but haven't tried it yet. Good luck!

I never have any EWCM...I'm lucky to have any at all. I've tried most of the remedies to no avail, but I do like using Preseed, which is a fertility-friendly lubricant.

Hi and welcome!!! I agree with the other ladies. I would try with the robitussin or mucinex.

I also have this issue, I have found that EPO and grapefruit juice has helped me. As Karin said there's also Preseed which can be very useful for a lack of EWCM
Good luck!

Another option is taking a supplement FertileCM. You can buy it on Amazon... I did try that for 2 cycles and both cycles I did get more EWCM than ever.
For those of you who tried all the different remedies, how long did you try them before giving up? I was reading and some people say they had to take some of those remedies for a couple cycles before noticing an effect.

I've heard good things about robitussin and mucinex, FertileCM seems like a good one too. Good luck!

I just wanted to say I had tons of EWCM this morning... I don't know if the remedies I am trying contributed to it because it was afte my run when I saw it! I have read the best time to check it, is after a workout or after a BM.
This is what I have been doing.... 1 glass of grape juice fruit every evening, baby carrots everyday, EPO with every meal, and 1 mucinex in the morning and again in the evening I am determined this cycle to see lots of EWCM

Wow, Dawn, that's awesome! I wonder what is helping most, or maybe it's the combo?? Either way, who cares! WOOT!

Robitussin seems to have the best track record of results. Preseed can help to replace the CM if you're lacking. Make sure to drink plenty of water, too!

I went out a bought a bottle of Robitussin, but couldn't find anything where the only active ingredient was Guaifenesin. They all had Dextromethorphan in them as well. The one I ended up with is a generic brand with 10mg of USP (cough suppressant) and 200mg of Guaifenesin per 5ml. Hopefully that's ok? I am looking forward to finding out if it makes a difference for me this cycle.

The dextromethorpan will actually dry you up - you don't want to take that. You really do need the only guaifenesin one.

Darn! I looked at Robitussin, Mucinex and all the generic brands and couldn't find anything that didn't have dextromethorpan in it. Which ones have people found that are dextromethorpan-free? Or should I just go with Preseed?

There should be versions of all those that are just guafenesin. Here's a link to the Walgreens brand for example - Wal-Tussin
