There's a major doctor shortage in Ohio right now. it's like 1 dr for every 1000-1500 patients. I have a thyroid condition, my tsh levels are almost 30 (normal is max 4.5)... and yet no one can see me until the end of June, or wont see me for a single appointment because it ties up a slot for someone they could keep full time. Urgent Cares wont help me because I require monitoring.. The Cincinnati Endo clinic is booking into Sept, so they sent me to a specific Urgent Care, who tried to refer me to the clinic. It's frustrating, since I get that I need monitoring, but we're moving BEFORE I'd need my next monitoring.. but it's dangerous to be with out my meds with levels this high (last time I was off them it didn't go over 11.. so obviously I'm getting worse)
I just want to go to Wi and find a dr and stay my butt there!
And no Dawn, we wont be going that route until next year if we need to. I've been pregnant before, and he has a son, so I want to hit the 1 year mark before we go further. And heck, I managed to get him to TTC almost 2 years ahead of our original schedule, I'm ok to wait.
but I'd really like to find someone to address my thyroid levels. I'm hoping the dr that wrote the lab req for the blood work will call on the weekend. I dropped off the results last night to his UC.
** they get around the "Refusal of care" risk by stating that they only do a consult first, and then an appointment several weeks later. Knowing I wont be able to do that.
