Do you have any tatoos? If so, what are they and how many? If not, have you ever or would you ever consider getting one?

I don't have any tattos. I thought about getting one several times in my life. When I was a teenager of course I wanted one, but was too chicken to get one. For those of you who don't know, I had cancer in my one leg which left me with a big scar on my left calf, I thought about getting a tatoo around the scar. Still not sure if I'll ever do that. My mom, who is 60 did not start getting tatoos until her 50s, so it's never too late!

I have 3 of them!!!

My first is a tribal with some kanji above it in .. well, I was going to say private area..but what the heck, we all be women and TMI everything else.. it's on the mons pubis

My second is a wolf howling at the moon which is on my right calf

My third is Appa's pawprint which is just offcenter on my back (planned that way).

The one of Appa's print was done for a cause. One of the animal rescues had a "tattoo day" sponsored by one of the shops here. It was $20 (all proceeds going to the rescue) for a 15 minute tattoo. It could be no bigger than 2" x 2", any amount of colour, whatever..as long as it could be completed in 15 minutes. So I figured it's for animal rescue, it should be animal based.. so I inked up my dogs paw and had him step on some paper (MUCH harder than it sounds), traced that onto another sheet of paper and voila. Because a dog's pawprint isn't symmetrical, I didn't want it dead center on my upper back..so we made it a bit off kilter. Amazingly, they were able to do the whole thing completely solid (not just outlined) in the 15 minute time limit. The only sucky part was waiting outside in the -35C weather for 2 hours to get an appointment time since it was all first come first serve!

(And 15 mins of pain was doable..the calf one was 3 hours of owwies..the private one just made me giggle because apparently even though it's one of the most sensitive areas on the body.. it didn't hurt as much).
