Hello all

I am new to the board and wanted to tell a little bit about my story and see if anybody had a similar experience and ended up with a BFP.

We have been TTC for over a year. My husband has MS so I assumed that may have created a problem for us so I made an appointment with a fertility clinic. Our first appointment was March 19, 2012. We were found to both be perfectly healthy. My husbands first sperm count was 47 million and everything else was good as well. Since we had been trying for a year it was suggested we try IUI without any drugs.

We did our first IUI right away. Sperm count after wash was 10 million. Ending up with a BFN. I was not too disappointed since this was our first try and we had used no drugs.

Doc wanted to try the 2nd IUI without clomid, but we did use ovidrel. Sperm count after wash was 52 million. I was very hopeful for this round, but another BFN.

The doc then put me on clomid for day 3-7 of my period for the 3rd IUI. Also took ovidrel. So we were very excited for this IUI. However the sperm count had dropped to only 3.8 million after wash. I started my period yesterday so this round did not work either.

I am very frustrated and discouraged that we are both healthy and we have went through 3 IUI's and I am sure we will try for a 4th.

Anybody have a similar story? I have no idea what is causing it to take so long. I had a friend who's hubby had very low sperm counts and she got pregnant with triplets on the first try. This is all very frustrating.

Any advice/comments would be greatly appreciated.

and I'm Dawn (29), one of the co-hosts and DH Nathan (33). We have been trying for just over two. We have not taken that step to see a fertility specialist so I'm not sure why it's not happening for us.

I'm am so sorry that you have had to go through 3 IUI's to all result in a BFN. Would IVF be an option?

Hopefully someone who's gone through this will chime in. Sorry I don't have any advice but I hope you get some answers soon!

Welcome!

I have nothing, we have only been trying for a few months now and we have had no official testing done. But hopefully someone has some suggestions!

Ivf will be an option if iuis don't work but trying not to move to that until we have to due to the cost.
