After i called on friday (CD1) to arrange my HSG and couldnt get an appointment, the booking lady said she'd put me down for any cancellations. Today (CD5) i've had a call from them about an appointment tomorrow at 12;15 - initially reaction HOWEVER they have said i cant have the HSG if im still spotting and they have said i have to ring and cancel if i still am tomorrow morning.

What to do???

Has anyone been given any advice on this before? i am still spotting but its not red blood, more brown-ish, i AM hoping that it will stop overnight/tomorrow but im not 100% sure it will and i REALLY dont want to have to wait another cycle to get the HSG done. Any thoughts?

Hmmm, not really sure on that. I would hate for you to go through all the trouble of going there with even a teeny bit of spotting, get all prepped, then find out the procedure won't work as accurately (or whatever) because of the spotting, only to have to do it all over again. Honestly, if you are still spotting, I would tell them, and hope that they could squeeze you in another day this cycle. Hope it stops!!!

I agree with Karin. Hopefully they can get you in later this week or next week if you are still spotting. Jen's uterus, stop spotting now, so that Jen won't have to reschedule!!!!

HSG is short for "hysterosalpingogram". This is a relatively painless test that uses dye and xray to check if your tubes are open and clear and how your uterus looks as well.

Hopefully you stop spotting by tomorrow - and if not - maybe there will be another cancellation and they can squeeze you in!

I dont know much of anything else at this point, although from what i understand blockages can be caused by anything from PCOS to damage to the tubes from appendicitis or abdominal trauma or an ectopic pregnancy.

as for a fix, again im not sure..im waiting to hear from the doctor, im not sure he'll want to do anything at this point to be honest, as i still have one working! i shall just have to wait and see! there are lots of women out there with only one tube and have had plenty of babies so im trying to stay positive!
