Getting to know you...

Tell us three things about yourself that you havent shared before on JM

For example:

1. I have one brother and one sister, both are younger than me
2. I have only lived in 8 different places (including my current home) my whole life
3. I first DTD at 17

1- In my family we use labels loosely. Many of my cousins are in fact my mother's cousins, or their children/grandchildren. It doesn't matter that they aren't my grandparents children's children, they're all cousins.

2- My DH is not as on board with TTC as I am. He has one son, and knows that he could be happy for the rest of his life with just that one child. Unless I have no choice because I cannot carry a child, I would not be as happy as he is.

3- I am closer to my grandparents than I am my own mother.

1. I was a terrible child. I pushed my sister down the stairs when I was about two. A counselor told my mom that if she didn't get me under control I would end up in juvie. I later went on to be "the good kid", mostly.

2. I wasn't ever in trouble at school or with the law until one time in 10th grade the secret service showed up looking for me. Apparently it's a felony to even joke about hurting the president or any presidential candidate in any way. That's kind of a long story... They didn't charge me or anything but it's something I'll never forget.

3. I am a super Harry Potter nerd. I appeared on a few podcasts, read fanfiction, went to see Wizard Rock bands, the whole nine yards.

1. I went to college for two years then DH and I decided we wanted to be closer to our family so I left school and we moved closer to home.

2. Our oldest cat gave birth to our other cat in my lap. We had taken her in as a stray and we had no idea she was pregnant. We were watching Harry Potter and she started convulsing in my lap. I felt her and a kitten was coming out into my hands.

3. I love SyFy movies. My dad and I have always watched them together.

I don't remember what I've shared and what I haven't, so I'll just pick three interesting things about me.

1. I grew up on a residential airport. This meant that our back yard included a taxiway to the runway. My dad was a private pilot and our house included a hangar that could house 3 small planes (Cessnas, etc.). In fact, it was a requirement that both my sister and I get our pilot's license before our driver's license; Lisa (who was 5 years older) never got her pilot's and only got her driver's when she was in her 30s. I became diabetic at the age of 13 and that time, I COULDN'T get my pilot's license, so I was off the hook.

2. Because of the age difference between my mom and her sister, and my dad and his brother, all of my cousins are between the ages of 50 - 58. And my 2nd cousins are under the age of 24. I'm 38, so I'm smack in the middle, generation-wise.

3. I had a dream recently where a medium (you know, the people that can talk to dead people) showed me a text on her phone from my sister (who died in June of 2011). It said I would be PG by January 3. Since it was a dream, I'm sure it doesn't mean what it says... It's probably cryptic for something else.

1. I married my high school sweetheart and we were both virgins on our wedding night.

2. I graduated from college in 2010 with a degree in Child and Family Studies.

3. I'm such a big pit bull fan. I used to be SO scared of dogs growing up after I got bit by one. My sister and brother-in-law got a pit bull and I loved it so much. That dog helped me be unafraid of dogs again. They are such great dogs...don't listen to the stereotypes. They are really the only dogs I ever want to own. (Minus my Rocky who is a Boston Terrier/Mini Pinscher mix).

Well, I've shared pretty much nothing, so

1. I am a children's librarian. I spend a good portion of my time at work dressed as a fairy and singing nursery rhymes, and reading picture books of course. It also makes me a huge advocate of early literacy programs, so I get INFURIATED by the number of kids TV shows and such that speak baby-talk or made up semi-languages. My niece also knows that Charlie and Lola is banned in my house due to appalling grammar.

2. I have dreadlocks down to my hips.

3. Straight out of high school I initially went to circus school, whilst I still have a fascination with the circus, my heart wasn't in it and I realised that I wouldn't enjoy making a living off it the way I wanted to.

1. I wear a hearing aid in my left ear and need one for my right ear (years of tubes in/out of ears + a mastoidechtomy and a tympanoplasty in my right ear a few years ago = I also can't get water in my ears (so I wear ear plugs for every bath, swim, etc...)

2. My bachelor's degree is in Television Production, but I work in the Pharmaceutical Industry! Although, I did intern once for a production house in Chicago which did a show for HGTV YEARS ago called "New Spaces"

3. I've got 6 tattoos and want more, but my husband HATES tattoos (and yes, I had all 6 before we met! haha)

1. I have a severe peanut allergy, and it's one of the main reasons I ended up going to culinary school and learning to cook.

2. I'm from Ontario, but moved to GA last year to be with my dh.

3. I'm a first-generation Canadian citizen on my paternal side of the family - my grandparents moved to Ontario when my Dad was a baby.
