planning for future cycles rather than expecting a bfp out of the current one?

I've been noticing that I do this. Even more since the miscarriage in July, it's like deep down I don't expect us to get pregnant the routes we're taking, instead I seem to find myself using "after the next chemical" or "when it's a bfn" and researching things we can try.

Last night I got a pretty dark opk, rather than coming out and ordering DH into the bedroom, I sat down and started researching Fertile CM and Fertilaid because I didn't have a huge abundance of CM. It's like I don't even plan for current cycles, I'm always onto the next one!

Am I the only one who does this?

No, I'm always planning ahead on my cycles as well. I try not to get my hopes up. I had one cycle where I was symptom checking and convinced myself I was pregnant, negative test.

I start preparing myself for the BFN right after I ovulate usually. It's just easier to expect that it isn't going to work and not get my hopes up too much. Someday I hope to be wrong but so far AF always shows.

I do this, too. I noticed that, because I used SO MANY OPKs this cycle trying to figure out when I was O'ing, I only have 5 OPKs left for next cycle. So I have already ordered more, preparing for the next cycle. I have also already decided that this cycle and next cycle I will chart/temp, but then the next one will be NTNP. After that, I think we'll give up the getting PG thing altogether. So yes, I have most certainly thought ahead to other cycles, expecting the current one not to be a BFP.

Yep, I do it too! I have my ob/gyn appt scheduled for the end of this cycle so that I can discuss our next steps (stay on clomid?, IUI?). I'm only cd 7.

Yeah, I only had one pregnancy when TTC naturally and that ended very quickly (3 weeks) so I kind of put my all my hope in IVF, so I honestly didn't expect anything while TC naturally.

Now that I am doing IVF, I am thinking "Oh I hope I have embryos to freeze for FET after this cycle" I just can't get my head around the idea of anything working right now.

Yea, I find myself planning for the next cycle mostly because ovulation is disrupted. My husband thinks im crazy and wants to just enjoy the present but It's hard when you are so convinced you will never see a BFP.

I'm right there with you, I don't get my hopes up at all. Last month was the first time TTC after my IUD removal on 22nd AUG. I'm supposed to ovulate next week, so we will see.

I am pretty convinced I will never see a BFP. At the most I will be on Clomid 5 cycles after this, and if I'm having this much trouble ovulating with MA I don't see me doing it on my own. Heck, I may not O again on the Clomid. I ovulated in February and didn't again until last cycle so that O could be a one time thing too. We don't have the money or insurance to try anything else, and I'm 90% we won't until after I get a hysterectomy. Basically what I'm saying is I don't just think about future cycles, I think about what's going to happen once we aren't even TTC anymore.

*waves hand in air* I'm totally guilty of this. Even now wedding planning for nxt year thinking ill probably not have a baby or be pg by then so don't need to consider it

I guess we just don't like getting our hopes up and having to deal with disappointment worst than it already is
