Just a fun thread to cheer up a Friday afternoon - tell me about the stuff you've bought that you're saving for your first little one!

We are super paranoid, but we did buy ONE thing we saw a few years ago that we love. It's a little blue rattle that is crocheted in the shape of a bird. I was worried that by the time we'd want it she wouldn't be making them anymore. It's hanging out with our collection of stuffed animals/souvenirs/etc. I am also knitting a friend a baby sweater as shameless practice for when I need to knit one for my kids!

Oh, and don't forget my Pinterest board that I've had since I've had Pinterest - it's called "daydreaming" - I did have one friend ask me why I was posting so much in there...I said I had a lot of friends with babies who were posting good things. Like, 50% true.

Anyone else?

DH and I just went to Paris and I soooo wanted to buy an adorable onsie we found (and secretly was hoping we would have conceived there. . . ) But DH talked me out of it - probably a good thing since that wasn't our time =)

I for sure have my pinterest board which i have labeled sneakily as "baby shower & ideas" so maybe it will appear i am hoping to give these things as gifts. . . maybe not as sneaky as I think though because people ask about it occasionally.

Key thing in my stash is a book - The Baby Name Wizard. It is obviously way too early for me to have this but a friend gave it to me and I couldn't help myself. I have already read it and think about names all the time. Guilty pleasure =)

I always look, but never buy. Can't bring myself to buy until we know for sure. I however do have names picked out, but I haven't told my DH that yet.

I'm superstitious as well but I have a confession... While I was gone for a weekend about 6 months ago, the DH set up a nursery. (As I've mentioned, he's been really wanting this for awhile so that was his way of hinting lol) Even so,we agreed to wait until this month to finally start trying. He insisted he saw it one day and just had to buy it while we had the money so that when it does happen we're ready. He also told me he plans on making a theme out of it but I convinced him he NEEDS to wait until whenever we actually get a BFP before starting that project. Maybe eventually I'll post pictures of it.

I've collected a lot of stuff of the years.

I have clothes, furniture, toys, blankets, 2 different nursery bedding sets, books, and even maternity clothes that were such a good deal I couldn't pass up.

I also have my registry list already created...yeah I know...I've been at this for so long...hopefully I will be graduating soon though

I don't have a stash, it's stupid but somehow I feel like it could jinx us. I thought about buying something recently when we were very briefly pg but I decided to wait and it was probably for the best. I don't even have a registery or anything but I do have a mental list of most of the big things we will get when the time is right.

DH won't let me buy anything. He says, why? It will be out turn soon so just wait on it. I do looks sometimes, but most of the time when I look I get sad... So it's for the best that we have no stash.

Brianna, rob isnt keen on us buying anything as 1. He thinks its bad luck and 2. He knows that on a bad day it would make me sad

If anyone wants to share pics of their stash, id happily live vicariously!

I'm the same way.

Though I could easily walk out of the house right now with a credit card, attach the trailer to my car and come back with an entire nursery because I have every last thing picked out.

The ONLY baby thing we have.. are a photo frame for an ultrasound photo (which honestly I bought expecting to put a photo in it of a baby we lose... I'm so pathetic), and a little crochet alien that I made to give to DH with a positive digi.. he found it, and loves it.. and doubled his efforts just so he could keep it out of the box. LOL

No way! I want to have a kid but the part about kids I don't like is how much STUFF they have. The last thing I want to do (besides jinxing myself) is put any baby stuff in my house without even having a baby!! My nieces are visiting for the weekend and they turned my house into a junk yard and I hate the clutter..

I don't have anything, mostly because I think it'll jinx me somehow. I like to do 'shopping' online how and again though Mostly for nursery type stuff.

Thinking about it, I think I think about our little rattle as a totem - hopefully that's true But I'm amused that we are such a superstitious bunch!

Are you superstitious about other stuff in your life? I'm not really aside from this, which is why I'm so amused by this.

I am paranoid as well (don't want to jinx)...but I have had ONE thing I bought over 2 years ago...right after we started trying - and that is a pack of chicago cubs onesies that I have always planned on giving DH the day we find out we are expecting...GOD how I hope I get to give these to him in 2 weeks!!

BUT I do have a big pinterest board as well as a "secret" wishlist on amazon!

I am not really a superstitious person in any other way, but DH is! We can't plan anything to do around the 4th of July because everytime their family did something bad would happen. My mother-in-law found out she had breast cancer so we were going to Florida to visit, we left the day before the 4th, and he wouldn't let us fly just because it was the 4th of July.
