Hi everyone! I'm new here..and here's my story..thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I just got off implanon three weeks ago, and had it in for two years. I have not had a period since before I got it put in, and now since im off the BC My boobs have been really sore...i guess my body is in shock.

My real question is, I have been taking OPK's ..and got a positive on Saturday around 2pm..then a negative on Sunday at 8pm..I mean the line was REALLY faint. I had sex on Wednesday..and then again on Sunday.(was out of town, so didn't have a lot of time to BD this week ).do I have any chance of conceiving? and why did the line turn negative the next day? Thanks so much! and I'm really sorry if I posted in the wrong section!!

Hi, I'm Jen, a co-host of this board

Your OPK's went negative the next day as its likely your LH surge finished, it can differ between women how long the surge lasts, some can get a positive a couple of days in a row, whereas others (like myself) only get a surge for a few hours so if your only testing once a day its easy to miss. Did you do any other OPK's other than the ones you already mentioned? Also, it may take your body a little while to get used to coming off the implant so you may not have a 'normal' cycle for a few months, again this differs between people though.

In response to your question about your chances of conceiving this month, theres always a chance as you did BD around when you might have ovulated and sperm can live for upto 5 days so..yes in theory you do..be prepared that it can take normal healthy couples upto 12 months to conceive so try not to be too disheartened if it doesnt happen this month.

The other thing i wanted to mention is that a positive OPK doesnt guarantee that you ovulated, your body can have an LH surge whilst its gearing up to O, but then not. CHarting your BBT is a great way to know for sure whether your ovulating. I would recommend a website called fertility friend for charting and for general TTC information i would recommend a book called taking charge of your fertility. Alot of the ladies here use both and find them really helpful.

I hope this helps and with your cycle this month, please feel free to introduce yourself a little more if you like, we have a great group of ladies here who are very supportive

Hi Ms. Friendly! I'm Nicholle (33), DH and I have been trying for over a year, on cycle #15. I agree with Jen. Most women O 12-48 hours after their LH surge ends. Hopefully if you BD'd on Sunday, you didn't O until later that night or Monday. GL and keep up posted!!!

Hi and welcome! I too just recently came off of implanon. I had the implant removed in June. I had a normal cycle and a period through out my 2 1/2 years on it until February of this year. AF started to appear every other week. I am sure you all know how fun that was. I finally called my doctor for help the beginning of June because I did not want AF to be around the day of my wedding (June 16). She told me that I should come in and have it removed ASAP, so that is what I did. I don't want to discourage you, but we have been trying ever since and still no luck. I am not trying to crush your hopes and dreams as we are all different. Just trying to give you a little insight.

I wish you the best of luck and hope you get your BFP!!!!!!!

I would sign-up on fertility friend, that's what most of us use to begin charting. They have a tutorial that will explain how to chart. You'll also need to buy a BBT (basil body thermometer) if you don't already have one. One of the most important rules is to take your temp the same time daily. You can also document your fertile signs, including: cervical position and cervical mucus which will help you indicate when you are about to O. GL and feel free to ask as many questions as you would like!
