Just a silly question because I can't get back to sleep now.

I was wondering when in your cycle/how many DPO do you POAS addicts start taking HPTs?

I had to get up really early this morning to make a phone call, and I was super drowsy and dragging butt.... and I guess I am a twitcher but it's 8DPO for me I think, and I hadn't tested yet, and I KNOW it's too early. So, I didn't feel like getting up out of bed to make this phone call, I was soo comfy. But! In order to motivate myself to get up and make the stupid call I said to myself... "Self, if you get up, you can POAS!" As soon as that thought crossed my mind I was like "OK I'm up!" BFN though, obviously.... I'm terrible about waking up and getting out of bed, I could just sleep for hours on end, but during the 2WW this is a stupid trick I can play on myself that works like a charm.

So, how many DPO do you usually start testing?

Hey Amy,

I'm not a big tester, so if I make it to 12 dpo, I will test (as I have a short LP and typically don't make it past day 10 dpo--without meds). Most women typically implant anywhere between days 7-10 after ovulation. It takes at least 2 days after implantation for your body to create enough hcg to test positive on a HPT. So a lot of women test on dpo 9 and get a faint bfp. However, some women implant early, maybe 6 dpo and others implant late, 11 dpo.

Feel free to test as often as you like after 9dpo, if it doesn't drive you crazy (as you may possibly seeing bfns ). If you test 12 dpo or later the hpt is about 99% accurate.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Agree with Nicholle! Though some of us are POAS addicts and test as early as 4-6 DPO hoping to see that little line. If you do get a faint BFP at 6 DPO then there is a chance that you got your O date wrong..

Good luck!

It depends on how I feel, and what my body is doing and/or my temps. Sometimes I test at around 10dpo (I don't test before then) and sometimes I don't test at all.

I would agree with Nicholle---this month in particular I am going to wait until after AF is due. Last month i drove myself crazy and drove DH crazy too (I feel really bad for putting him through that). This month I have vowed not to be crazy, I do have an outlet this month----I'm a gamer, and League of Legends just sent out their Mac version of the game so I'm occupying myself with that.

*raises hand* Serial early tester here.

I can handle bfms. What I can't handle are stupid light lines long before a pregnancy is possible!

I figure might as well burn through them, the IC OPKs come with enough free HPTs to test anytime I feel like during the second half of the 2WW. I've got a FRER I'm saving for Monday if no signs of AF though.

I test pretty early. My LP is only 10 days. I usually lose my self control and start testing at 8 dpo. I don't get too bummed about bfn's, because with AF coming so early, a bfn really doesn't mean anything.

I'm an early tester as well. This cycle I O'd late so I'm only 10 DPO now and AF was due yesterday (still no sign of her). I've been crazy in the past about POAS so this cycle I have vowed to make it my TWW or just wait for AF to show. So far I've kept my promise to myself.
