Hey Ladies I was wondering if you could give me your experience with OPK's...Do you ladies normally have the TEST Line darker than the CONTROL line?

I've never had that happen and I hear some women's OPK's test line don't ever get darker than the control line.

Mine has never been darker than the control line; but it has been as dark as the control line. My RE said that I have a LH deficiency, that could be the reason, but I don't know this for sure. I do typically O though, so at least there is that. And that's what matters, as long as you O! Many women on this and other boards have said that it never gets darker than the control line and they still get bfps.

Hope that helps!

Ditto Nicholle - The ones I have taken have been as dark as the control but not ever darker than it. But I really haven't taken all that many OPKs yet.

My only OPK experience was last cycle. It was clear to me when they were negative. And when I started wondering, I posted a picture on the board and these lovely ladies gave me their input!

I know I definitely had a positive, but it wasn't DARKER than the control line. I would have been giddy with excitement and I wouldn't have been confused at all if that was the case!

GOOD LUCK!!! KUP.

I don't think I've ever had one as the control line Do you ladies do the 21 Day Progesterone Blood test every month to see if you O'd?

Yeah my OB/GYN doesn't like OPK's....He says you should just BD Days 10 thru 20 every other day, but what if you O late...Blah! idk I just hate getting my hopes up.

I do not do the progesterone test (I've only done this during MA cycles); temping really helps confirm O. I would keep bding after day 20, as a lot of women O later in their cycle. If you don't temp check your CP and CM to confirm O.

Also remember that some OPKs are faulty, have you used multiple brands? Some brands are better than others. Also, different times of the day are better than others. I've read that between 1-3pm is the best time to use OPKs, but some women surge at night or in the morning (though they recommend that you don't test in the morning).

Yeah I'm going to continue to BD past Day 20. I would check my CM but i barely get any that comes out, I mean I can feel it. I don't get alot of CM because I'm on three different antihistimines due to my Eczema and that can cause you not to produce CM. Also I need to get that special BBT themometer all I have is a regular one.

So I've just been going off slight CM, OPK's, and cervical position.

I have my day 21 progesterone on Friday the 5th

Hm I've really just started studying all of these various markers to my cycle. My last cycle I THOUGHT I had a positive OPK, but it doesn't seem like I actually did ovulate. My positive OPK the test line was only as dark as the control line, not darker. I don't even know if the body even produces the necessary progesterone if you don't ovulate.

But my fingers are crossed for you this cycle.

My test line has not yet been as dark as the control line, and I've never had the opposite happen. Of course, I don't test every day.

I've had it go both ways. Sometimes it's the test sensitivity, other times it's urine concentration. opks need minimum 4hrs with minimal liquid intake, never FMU and twice a day unless using a digital opk.

Opk from my July cycle (Hope's cycle)

My Feb positive:
