Was making soup... it was frozen, so I added some water to the pan...attempted to move the frozen block..and splash..

ARGH. it hurts like a bunch of swear words following the word mother. I work tomorrow... in a clothing store. Not only do I use that crease non stop... its impossible to keep my hands clean.

AND AF's on her way. That's my dominant hand... I really hope she's as light as she was last month....

This is so not fair....

Ouch ouch ouch! I wish you had some silvadene cream because that stuff worked miracles for me when I burned my hand back at art school.

Oh no!!!! That looks painful!!! I unfortunately do stuff like that all the time, almost every time I try to defrost frozen food on the stove actually. I hope it feels better soon and you aren't in pain at work!!

Thanks girls. It looks fine this morning... but it doesn't FEEL fine. Everywhere the water touched is hot, and tight. The top of the pad of my thumb looks the worst.. and it hurts there too. I've got it coated in antibiotic cream... but I need to figure out a solution for when I go to work. I don't want to risk tearing the skin.

I'm a bit klutz.. so I'm glad I'm first aid trained. Woody would have been yelling to get ice on it. I think wrapping it in a "just slightly cooler than body temperature" wet towel really helped, it felt so much better after 20 minutes. And at least I can type today

During some digging I realized I had one last sheet of sterile gauze, and some of that gauzy wrap stuff.. so I kept the crease of my hand nice and covered until the last hour of my shift. I was working on shoes and it kept getting stuck to the glitter and then trying to get lose I'd pull them all down.. so it HAD to go. lol.

It feels about 90% better than yesterday today. Down to feeling like a very mild sunburn if I rub it feeling.. which is much better than the raw to the bone feeling from the other night
