DH & I made the decision to not drink from the time AF leaves until she comes back again (of course up until my fertile times, I maintain the right to have a nice small glass of wine/ice cold beer on nights that deserve it!)

So tonight, DH decided he wanted to stock up for next cycle. We went to our local liquor mart and bought the makings for mudslides, grasshoppers, pina coladas, a few beers, and some wine coolers. $50 later, we left with a well-stocked box of booze.

This is totally unlike us. Ever since we turned 21, we have never been drinkers. So I think it's hilarious that TTC is what sparked this huge splurge at the liquor store!!!

I also told DH that he owes me $50 if we don't finish it all before he knocks me up!

We made great grasshoppers tonight, and tomorrow night, I think we'll have an afternoon beer with the Cubs game. Then wait for AF to show up next month.

OH! And I TRIED to convince DH to let me get some of the Angry Orchard that Kayla was drinking the other night, but he thought it sounded weird... next time though... next time!

Haha... that's kind of awesome. Awesome because it means I am not alone.

If there's one thing that TTC has done for me... it's turn me into a habitual drinker... "cuz I can". Almost very month when AF rolls around... it's like "Oh, ok, guess I can have something to drink! And then between the two of us we will finish a box of wine (5 liters OMG!) the week AF is around. I actually made it through my entire cycle from start of AF til now without having any alcohol for the first time in a while though. Which means it's been 6 weeks since I've had any booze.

Also, interesting that your DH thought Angry Orchard sounded weird, when it doesn't sound nearly as bizarre as a Grass Hopper, in my opinion. I would definitely recommend the Angry Orchard judging by the other stuff you got, I think you'll like it.

Thank you for "getting it", Amy!

It's so funny because I never want to drink any other time, but as soon as AF comes, I'm ready to go!

So it's good to know that what we got yesterday will last us quite a few months!!! (Hopefully way more than that!)

I only drink while on AF as well typically. And there have been a few liquor store runs on the day AF arrives. Like you, I am NOT a big drinker.

That's awesome! I'm not a big drinker either but sometimes you just need a drink.

I'm kind of the opposite. I lost the desire to drink when we started TTC. I don't drink at all anymore. I used to like to drink quite a bit before that time. I'm not sure what happened. I think it's partly just because I was drinking too much, and I finally just got sick of it.

We drink more now that we are TTC... or at least I do. DH was never much of a drinker.

i had to start buying the little bottles of wine though.. since I got tired of dumping half a bottle.

We have the stuff for NOLA hurricanes in the cupboard. It's so hard during the TWW when I'm stressed not to break out the mix. LOL
