I use these as well. They don't smell like plastic, I put them in the dishwasher all the time. The downside is... you use it for anything else, and you'll need to use it for that forever. I made the mistake of using them for MiO's when I worked at a Call Center last fall... one makes water taste like black cherry, the other like tangerine. Oops.

Jen, I am so proud of you for losing those pounds! Go you!

Three pounds a week is great, but I like your approach that it won't be like that every week!

Elle- I love the neon colors, guilty! I bought me a new pair of pink nikes and I love them!

Jessica- I ALWAYS lose my water bottles! I like the Camelbak water bottles. They are very nice. They last forever as well.

that water bottle is exactly like the last one I lost!! I loved it!

I really want one with a straw top, but I haven't found one I liked enough - the last one I had like that...I lost.

I have issues with things that are icky to me. Seriously, I can drink out of a straw once and it needs to be thrown away because it's not clean anymore. I had a water bottle on my desk at work that ended up with mold in the straw mouthpiece... and.... I'll let you figure out the rest *gag*

I also have brita water bottles... they don't have the filter in them though. I hate that you have to squeeze the water through them... hurts my hands.

I really want a life factory bottle though. LOL.

Chiming in on the waterbottles. I have a THERMOS water bottle with a wide spout (so I don't have to squeeze the bottle) and a CammelBack waterbottle. The camelback goes on my bike, but I like the way it looks so sometimes I carry it around with me.

The idea of buying clothes to help you look and feel the part of exercising is SPOT ON. It's an INVESTMENT. I remember I got pretty hardcore into the cycling class at my gym after I spent over $100 bucks to buy the clip in shoes. It was a splurge! But they have lasted me three years and show hardly any signs of wear. They even advise you take into consideration the coloring on a road bike when you go to buy one, because if you don't like how it looks then you won't ride it!

ladies on the weight loss! I wanted to lose more weight before lap sx, but with bummed knees and my conference I gained 4.5lbs last week on my trip. But today is a new day and the start of a new week.

BTW, great thread!

Totally didn't see this. lol. I'd probably go with the flip, because the classic is screw on I think? I HATE screw on lids... I mean... two hands? pfft Though knowing me... I'd buy the sippy cup lid too. LOL

I drank over 140-oz of water yesterday... and still went to bed with my body crying for more. I feel so water logged today!

My update for today isnt as great as last week. I managed to put on 0.5lbs! Urgh really annoyed but not that surprised. I've had the appetite of a horse since around 7DPO and have not done a great job at ignoring it! as AF is due soon i'm also starting to have the usual bloat -which has been known to equate to upto 3lbs alone!

This week I plan to get out of the house a bit more, make the most of the long light evenings. This past weekend we werent able to get in the garden much as the weather wasnt too great so if we have some sunshine i'll hopefully do that too!

Hows everyone else getting along?

I'm on steriods... so far no massive gain or food desires... but I'm not losing. still craving ice water.... wonder if my iron is low. I don't want to crunch the ice obsessively (I do crunch the last few cubes out of the bottle lol)... but the water has to be ICE cold.

Well my update is also not going to be as good this week as last week. . .

I will start with the positives!! - I got the 22 oz Flip top water bottle that Ashley mentioned last week and I LOVE IT! It has been really great and I am drinking 3 a day! So my water intake is super improved. I have also been eating really healthy!!

The downside. . . I never made it out to jog again after that first day I walked a couple of days after and then completely fell off it. I am having the hardest time actually going out and jogging! I even found my perfect spot, have the cute outfit. . . I have got to commit!!!!!!! Really hoping I do better than once a week. . .

My weight has gone up by about half a pound but I am choosing to believe that is because I drink so much water now. Hoping for a better week this week!

Water: Drink at least 4 (16 oz) bottles of water. Last Week: I rocked at this!!! This week: Same goal.

Eating: Take a real effort to watch portion sizes. If I struggle to do it this week, next week I'll have to start counting calories or look into a WW points deal where I don't need to attend meetings -- the closest one is an hour away. Last Week: This was rocky. I don't want to start counting calories yet, because I think I'm starting to do a much better job. This week: Same goal. Plus making sure to eat fruits and veggies with every meal.

Exercise: Yoga x2, Walk the nights I don't work after school program (Tues/Thurs). Last Week: Yoga: M/T/Saturday Walked: Sunday It snowed on Thursday, so I'm exempt. This week: Saturday I did some good wii workouts: 5 just dance songs, 20 minutes of Wii Active, 15 minutes Wii Plus. I'd like to do this same concept 2 times, plus then yoga 2 times.

Weight: Down 1 lb
Ultimate Goal: 50 lbs - 11 down, 39 to go.

Water: 64 oz or more per day. Last Week: I exceeded this goal. This week: Same goal.

Eating: Watch my night time snacking. Last Week: This is still a challenge for me, as well as weekend eating. This week: Make a set schedule to eat and don't eat after 7pm.

Exercise: Take the dog for a walk 3 times this week with DH. Jump the trampoline for 10 minutes several times this week. Last Week: I didn't uphold this. I was sore all week from the 8 hours of walking at the Renaissance Festival, which made it too easy for me to skip walks. This week: I weed-wacked on Sunday, which really worked out my arms. I took the dog for a walk last night. I will try again tonight, despite the pain. I will be at my parents' house for Wednesday-Saturday. I will try to get 2 more evening walks in, and use the elliptical for 2 nights.

Ultimate Goal: 1lb lost last week. 8 lbs lost total. Too many left to count. I need to focus on the lost number and not what's left.

What tactics have you guys used to tame late-night snacking/sweets after dinner?

This is my downfall. Seriously I can blame 90% of my weight gains on this. I just have to have something sweet after dinner.

I think maybe I need to just plan something out to eat. Like a jello pudding cup, or fruit with a bit of something in it.

The gum/brushing my teeth thing don't work. Tea of some sort helps sometimes, but I need a healthy, small snack so signify the end of eating that still tames the sweet tooth.

I'm the same way. I love dessert and I usually need a sweet thing after dinner or I'm very likely to snack.

So, DH & I have dessert. Usually something homemade or a small bowl of ice cream or a cookie. The key is size. As long as I have something small, I'm content. If I try to go without, then I start craving and then I over indulge and eat a half pan of brownies!

What I like about homemade desserts is that I can control what goes into them!

Water: Drink more - just overall. Work to a number goal next week.

Eating: Continue eating well, making sure that I keep eating regularly.

Exercise: Just Dance Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Other: Fill out the food chart from the acupuncture people for this week and next week. In general, get to sleep earlier.

for everones achievements last week

So hows the past week gone?

I lost 2lbs, so 1.5lb after the half pound I put on the week before. I was good with my meals and ate at home whenever possible. AF bloat has gone by now too.

Plan for this week - to continue as before and try and fit in some swimming if possible

Way to go Jen!!!!!! You are rockin it

Water: I have been doing awesome on my water goal!! Every day since I got my new water bottle I have drank at least 74 oz a day (~2.2 Liters) and that is such an increase from before!!

Eating healthy: I have been doing really well on this one too. I have increased my salads and over all veggie and fruit intake, eaten at home every meal except 1 in the past week, and went to the grocery store and restocked on all the healthy goods.

Working out: I am still failing in this area. . . I have really upped my walking at work - I work on the 3rd floor (but like the 4th because of high bays) so I took 2 breaks a day to just walk up and down the 3 flights of stairs for about 15 minutes each. I went on a couple of walks. . . but never went jogging again I don't know why I just can not motivate myself to get back out there!! I used to be good at that.

Weight Loss:
This week = -0.5 lb
Total = -1.5 lb
Goal = -10 lb

Water: Kind of a fail here - haven't been drinking as much. I just really need to buy a new water bottle. Not sure why that is so difficult. Putting it on my to do list for tomorrow.

Food: Maintaining here. We need to do some more meal planning to get more variety, but I think aside from that we're really doing well in terms of food choice. Lots of veggies, salad, and whatever.

Exercise: I did some of the Just Dance Wii last week. On Sunday, my friend who is a yoga teacher came over and we worked out a little starter routine for me. I am supposed to do it once a day (except Tuesdays). She said I can do the dance thing if I want too, so it's additional. The routine is supposed to help with my tight shoulders and tight hips. Theoretically, loosening tight hips is good for fertility. So that's something.

Not going for weight loss, just going for health
