I know there are a fair few of us ladies on the board trying to be healthy and / or loose weight, whether to help with ttc or not. So I just wanted to share an update on me!

Last week, I started WW again and tracking points. I wont be going to the meetings this time around as I have all of the info and tools I need but am sticking with weighing myself on a monday for consistency. Last week I lost 3lbs

I would really like to loose some more prior to my appt on the 10th May and know that i'm unlikely (very) to loose 3lb every week but i'm happy that this is a great start for me

Feel free to add your own update on you're getting on! We'll use each other for moral support and that kick up the *** we sometimes need!

I have started the weight loss journey myself. I have lost 7 lbs in 3 weeks. I haven't been putting in the time to walk in the evenings as much lately. I use MyPlate to watch what I eat. I have been making smoothies, protein shakes, or bringing in Jimmy Dean Delights breakfast sandwiches lately. I also eat a lean cuisine for lunch, with a greek yogurt and piece of fruit. I have been eating healthier dinners. Depending on how my day goes, I might eat more veggies or protein with dinner.

I just don't want to be out of breath trying to chase down a toddler. Healthy for my future kids is my motivation.

YEAH!!! Way to go, Sara and Jen! Those are solid, healthy weight losses each week.

I heard this a few years ago, and it's stuck with me: You eat three meals a deal, 7 days a week. So, you've got 21 chances to eat healthy. If you mess up 2 or 3 meals, don't kick yourself. You've still got 18 chances to get it right.

That always helps me put things in perspective!

Since I started going to the gym in February, I've lost 20 lbs. I need to lose about 40 more.

Great work everyone! The weather here is decent today so I'm going to take a nice long walk with my dog now.

Great idea! I need it too. I used be be an avid rider (dressage and hunter) but since I've quit riding over two years ago, I've gained THIRTY pounds. I am not ok with this!

So, I've done a one day fast, then a three day Dr Oz detox plan, and now I am on day one of a seven day juicing fast. I'm really hoping this kick starts some weight loss and that I can keep up with raw juicing and a healthy eating lifestyle through TTC and pregnancy.

My goal weight is 140 (I'm 5'9") and currently I sit at 154. Ideally I'd get back to 130 but I'm trying to be realistic. Wish me luck!

Way to go everyone! Everyone seems to have some great goals for getting healthier for ttc! We are going to end up with some super-healthy kiddos!

Running seems to be really popular an although it appeals to me, i'm pretty self conscious so the idea of runnning on my own is kinda daunting and DF isnt the running type. He plays football on the weekend which is much more his type of exercise! Anyone got any tips?

I have started hula hoop dancing! They make workout DVDs and professionally weighted hula hoops and it is so much fun!! It is great for toning your core, buns, as thighs which are my as I like to call them "squishy areas"

I've massively increased the amount of water that I'm drinking every day. I was really retaining water this weekend, so my mom suggested that I add some lemon juice to my water. I don't know if it's helping or not, but my water tastes good!

Here are my goals for this week:
Water: Drink at least 4 (16 oz) bottles of water. More if I can, but I won't push it since I need to be taking OPK's.

Eating: Take a real effort to watch portion sizes. If I struggle to do it this week, next week I'll have to start counting calories or look into a WW points deal where I don't need to attend meetings -- the closest one is an hour away.

Exercise: Yoga x2, Walk the nights I don't work after school program (Tues/Thurs).

Ultimate Goal: 50 lbs - 10 down, 40 to go.

Holy MOLEY! We have some rockstar weight-losers in our group!

I'm at a pretty healthy weight for my frame, but the food I eat is mostly JUNK. I am hardcore addicted to sugar. I would like to cut out my vending machine binges at school this week and start subbing sugary breakfasts like poptarts or waffles for oatmeal or a protein.

Jen - what helps me with running is finding the place and working my way up to it. I finally found a little park near me that feels safe and has a mile loop. I started off slowly by just sort of walking quickly around the loop I hoped to jog. Then I jog, then slowly worked up to running. It is easier on the body plus I felt less self conscious since I started off easy. Added incentive, I decided to look the part. I didn't break the bank or anything. But I bought one pair of shorts, one cute running top, and running shoes (needed the shoes the old ones were destroyed) and that has been a big motivator for me.

PS who knew neon was so in these days? All the running stuff for sale was neon!!! I am so out of the loop. . .

I have had roadblock after roadblock in trying to lose weight. I got engaged in Jan last year and was determined to lose weight for the wedding. Then I had a gallstone attack in Feb. I spent a month getting tested for my stomach, liver, gallbladder, etc. until they finally determined it was gallstones. Then I had sinus surgery in May, followed by 2 more sinus infections. Just when I was in the clear, I broke my ankle in July. I needed surgery to have a plate and 5 screws put in. Then in August, a blood clot spanning from my knee into my abdomen nearly killed me. I still have swelling and pain from the damage to the valves in my veins from the blood clot, but it is getting better. So instead of losing weight last year, I gained another 20lbs. Now I'm finally getting back on track to lose weight. I can't run or do high intesity aerobics, but I can walk and start getting some weight off now.

Here are my goals for this week:
Water: 64 oz or more per day. I will start testing with OPKs later this week, so I should start thinking of timing my intake of water.

Eating: Watch my night time snacking. I tend to eat good breakfasts and lunches, but then either get too tired to cook or snack on randomness at night. I have been making a real effort to balance meals, i.e. if I have carbs for breakfast or lunch, I avoid carbs at dinner. Like today, I had a protein shake for breakfast, a lean cuisine sandwich, yogurt, and celery for lunch, I will have either an apple or carrots for mid afternoon snack, and then tonight will be a carb light meal. I've been reading Bethany Frankel lately and I like her approach. You want fried calamari, have some. Just enjoy a couple bites and move on. The first bite is amazing, the second bite is really good, the third bite is nice. Stop there.

Exercise: Take the dog for a walk 3 times this week with DH. Jump the trampoline for 10 minutes several times this week.

Ultimate Goal: Lose 110 lbs would be fantastic, but I am realistic and would be happy with 90 lbs. I really don't want to DELAY TTC until after I lose all the weight, but I do realize that I need to put the healthy habits in place to be able to continue this road through TTC, pregnancy and motherhood.

I weigh 190 now. Within the last 6 months I have gained 50 pounds. Not good at all. I have struggled to lose some weight. I just got my gym membership back so I am very motivated! My Doctor said that a healthy range for my height would be 135-145ish. So i got a ways to go!

Water: I am going to try to drink 64 oz a day. I am not using OPKs right now so I don't have to worry about that. I am also doing a full body cleanse so I have to stay up on it.

Eating: I am working on the 5 small meals a day thing. It is going ok. I really just need to watch my portion sizes. I am also doing fairly well on cutting out all of my white chocolate raspberry mochas too. We are eating healthier meals at home so that's not an issue.

Exercise: Gym membership is renewed! Yay! I have started doing the elypticals for some cardio. Working on strengthening my knees and shins so I can run a little bit. I am not trying to hurt myself. I started a routine where I spend 30 mintues on cardio and 30 minutes working out my back or chest or legs, etc.

Ultimate Goal: I would absolutely love to get back into my 7's. Right now I am in a size 15 and it sucks! My goal weight loss is 55 pounds. I haven't weighed myself today so I don't know how I am doing but that's ok. One day at a time.

I am a healthy weight and DH and I are really committed to eating well. I have a few "splurges" but I plan them each week, and all of that.

The issue? I am SUPER non-active. Or at least, I have been. The problem is that since February, I have had like, three colds, and I just got out of the habit.

My plans are for every day that isn't Tuesday (I am in class all day) - do either Just Dance (on Wii) or go for a walk in the park (either Riverside Park or Central Park). Both are nearby, and I haven't explored Riverside at all. Riverside has a track and stuff, while central park has hills, so either way are good for a good walk.

I'm also going to continue to work on my water intake. I need another water bottle - I keep losing them, and the one that I have left is TERRIBLE and I hate it. Otherwise, those are my main health goals! But at home, I can do a better job of being hydrated.

Thanks for the great thread!

Thats a great tip thanks Elle. I'll have a think about where I can go, these lighter nights are perfect for me to start doing something after work.

I think its great that lots of people are including drinking more water! As I dont drink tea or coffee I am always super hydrated, pretty much all I drink is water or squash. I really notice if I dont drink as much (like today for example as work has been crazy) and it gives me headaches and I just feel yucky.

I agree with the more water thing!!! I really really need to work on it. A big issue for me is finding a water bottle I like! I hate how they all taste like plastic or metal or cant go in the dishwasher. My work does not provide water so unless I bring it up here I just dont drink any all day.

Does anyone have any water bottle suggestions??? I have tried so many!!

I'm lucky to not have this issue too often - as I work from home most of the time, I just use a really big glass! When I am out inspecting, people are always offering me drinks and will often bring me a jug of water and a glass. I hope you manage to find one that suits!
