Okay everyone, I officially had my CLOMID CONSULT this morning! I walked out with a RX for 50 mg Clomid and progesterone to start a period when I'm ready. I also received the results of my HSG and my husband's SA. I'm posting pictures below.

So it's a good news/bad news appointment. Good news: I'm normal and have a prescription for Clomid! Bad news: Husband's morphology is 2%. From what I've read this is low. His counts appear normal although the progressive motility is borderline. I'm guessing sperm can't move well with tail defects, as is noted at the bottom of the report. Hm. So he will be making a consult with the male fertility doc now.

If anyone has any experience reading SA results then you are free to chime in.

I don't know much about SA, but I hope that the male fertility doc is able to help.

Thank you for sharing all this, by the way. It's helpful for me to know what the documents look like and how to read them in case I ever end up needing to get these things done.

Fx the clomid does the trick for you!!!!

I don't really know anything about the SA - did your doctor have anything to say about it? Or will that all be with his doctor now?

I hope clomid does the trick! How many SAs has your DH had done? My doctor said Dh would have another SA before he was considered to have low sperm count. We have only had one so far and he did have low count at the time but then i went on some meds for my endo so he has not had a second one done.

I know nothing about SA's either.. but like Caitlin said, they do usually like more than one to compare them.

I'm glad your HSG was normal, and yay for clomid!

Reba, I was hoping that by sharing the paperwork that people would learn something from it/find it interesting.

And to the questions about a repeat SA, I think you guys are right. The question is do we go ahead and spend $175 on another SA to have it come back abnormal then spend $250 for the consult (no tests included, just the talk to the doc part) or do we go ahead and just book the consult knowing that the doc might order an ultrasound or something of that nature? I do think that a repeat SA is necessary. The more data the better.

Side rant: ARGH trying to make a baby is costing so much money. X.X

Hey Sam, sorry about the low morphology. Has your DH seen a reproductive urologist? My DH's morphology is 5%. He was put on an antioxidant and L-Carnitine. His morphology jumped from 5% to 9.5%. PM me if you have any questions.
