So last Thursday the OB put me on progesterone to try and kick start my period because it's been 80 days and counting since coming off BC. My bloodwork was all in normal ranges and I do an ultrasound tonight just to make sure nothing else is happening. Well, I am experiencing quite a few of the listed side effects of progesterone. Bouts of sudden depression, body aches, and anxiety attacks (twice now my husband had to calm me down from panic attacks). This has been a stressful week because I have been caring for my sick father, so that could definitely be adding to it. I just feel like I am having a much harder time of keeping my emotions in check. 4 more days and hopefully it gets everything in check so I don't have to take it again

I am so sorry you are going through that!!! Coming off of BC can be so tough and it sounds like you are having an especially hard time with it. I will keep my fingers crossed the Progesterone effects go away quickly and AF shows so that you can start your next cycle. I hope you father is feeling better too. Keep us posted on how everything is going!!

I'm really sorry that you are feeling this way. I've never taken progesterone, but I have dealt with depression and anxiety all my life. If you need a friend to talk to, I am just a PM away.

I am so RELIEVED to hear that someone else felt that way when taking it. I was on it for 10 days about a month ago to induce my period. I couldn't stop eating when I was taking it. I was super emotional and nothing felt right.

The side effects seemed to ease up the closer I got to the end of the 10 days. Like it built up and somehow my body started to getting used to it?

I have never wanted to stop taking a drug so much in my life. But the feelings will pass. Hang in there!

sorry to hear the progesterone is giving you a difficult time. Hopefully the symptoms will ease soon

We're all here to offer a shoulder or venting place in the meantime though!

SmilingSam - It's the opposite on hunger for me, I've been skipping meals during the day because my stomach has felt too knotted. Although today I finally want to eat a lot but that could be the donuts I brought for my students calling out to me

Still fighting back the anxiety a bit. It's kind of a mean cycle because after the first panic attack I then get anxious that I may have another. I have had panic attacks in the past so I know how to manage them (usually) but it would be nice not to have to manage them. My hubby has been really good at helping to calm me down the second he sees it starting.

3 more days and hopefully we'll see some positive results after it. Had an ultrasound last night and I think once I hear the results of hopefully no cysts I think that will keep my nerves in check too.

Did AF arrive? F/X'd that the progesterone worked and that AF arrived today or will arrive tomorrow.

Nothing at the moment, but it's only the first day after. I am getting some cramping though so hopefully that's a positive sign!
