I'm after some thoughts about underwear (random I know, bare with me) and more specifically bras. I have pretty large boobs (or so it feels anyway), F cup, and since my costochondritis has come back, I've found that going braless is realllly painful. I notice this especially at night and when I first wake up in the morning. Sunday I got annoyed and ordered a wireless bra which has arrived today - thinking I can sleep in it for some support. I tried it on and its so comfy!

Anyway, I was after your ladies thoughts on bras....wire or no wire....??

I only wear wire bras really, especially when I am out and about doing things - I am about a D cup so when I sleep with no support I wake up in a bit of pain as well. My solution was those camisoles with a very light bra in them. They have no wire and I adjust them pretty loose but the extra support really helps me sleep at night. I have slept in one every night for a year now and no longer wake up in pain.

I also have one wire bra that has a lot of padding around the wire and very thick straps for support. It is not very pretty (think granny bra) but it is the most comfortable bra I have ever worn.

You will have to let me know how your experience with the wireless goes!! I have thought about trying one many times. . .

I've got DDs. I can't sleep with a bra. I feel too confined.

I tried a bra w/o wires once and I hated it. So underwires are the only thing I wear! I like Playtex bras. Kohl's had some on sale and they are really comfy, wide straps, and come in pretty colors! (navy, periwinkle, polkadot!, and then a beige one)

Buying bras, though, is one of my LEAST favorite things to do!

Since I have lost weight, I'm a full C, sometimes a small D. I sleep braless and don't have any issues, so I can't relate. A cami sounds like a great idea or wireless bras. So sorry that you have pain Jen. GL and KUP!

I am a 34-D. I can't sleep with a bra on. But I love wired bras. My favorite bra ever is the demi bra from victorias secret. I have started not wearing a bra when I get home and it literally feels like I can't breath! So now I will wear sports bras at home, much more comfy and cheaper!

Bras with wires only for me. I'm a double-d although they weren't as lovely as they once were due to weight loss after highschool. I don't sleep in a bra though. Have you tried sleeping in a sports bra?

I am a D / C- so I have to have wire bras to give the right "shape" with an insert on the small side. I will say, that a good sports bra that's wireless can feel great though. On the rare times I sleep in a bra it's been sports bras.

Some pretty well endowed ladies here. I'm a D/DD, gotta have an underwire during the day, and I am very particular. The next time I find one I really like I swear I am buying 20 of those suckers, because every time I find a good one, they get discontinued... I need the seemless kind, because that elastic stuff makes my back fat pop out.

A camisole with a shelf bra at night would probably be ideal for me.

I would be open to the possibility of a wireless bra if I could find one that didn't make the girls be shaped funny/give me a uniboob, and actually had enough support.....

*lurking* (oh like anyone really thought I'd be able to really go away)

I'm an H .. really an H and a half right now. I wear under-wire bras, because that's all I can find that fits. but I'd look like Madonna with a banded bra... you know >_> pointy

I wear sports bras when my boobs hurt. To sleep in that is. The problem lies in the fact they don't make sports bras for boobs like mine. LOL. SO They don't fit all that fantastically, and they certainly don't breathe well so I get sweaty. Cotton ones just don't stretch over the girls

Sports bras always give me a uniboob. DH always laughs at me when I wear them (which is every day that I work out ).

I want a nomination for smallest boobs!

I'm a barely B... And I just wear a B that is too big because I'm horrified that I need an A! LOL. I wish a sports bra gave me uniboob... They give me no boobs!

So, I always wear a cheapy bra with a cute pattern that was like eight bucks at giant tiger. I figure its a perk (haha) of having barely-there boobs. They all have wires in them.

Sorry I can't be of more help!

I wear bras with wires (32D) outside the house, but at home I'm usually in a camisole with a shelf bra. But, I sleep without a bra most of the time. Occasionally, I'll use a camisole, but not regularly.

Funny story, I used to wear a 34C, but they always fit kind of funny. A friend suggested trying a 32D, which is a similar size since it's all proportional, and it fit SO much better. The only problem is that sometimes, after I ovulate, my boobs are like, hi! We're HUGE today! but whatever

YES!!! Anna, I'm competing with you! I have "cup is bigger than boob" syndrome because I can't bare to go down to an A My boobs were bigger, but after appendicitis surgery three years ago, they shrunk and haven't come back.

I can't stand bras. All of them suck. Once, I accidentally forgot to wear a bra to work, but you couldn't tell how at all b/c of the type of shirt I was wearing

I love you all for your replies to this thread! Nicholle was right - who can resist a thread entitled underwear lol!

I do sometimes sleep in sportsbras but due to the size of my boobs they have to fit quite tight to be effective and whilst thats fine for working out its not so comfy for sleeping. I did sleep in my new wireless bra last night and felt so much better for it this morning. This is the bra I've bought Nadia Soft Cup Bra Black by Rosme

My boobs have always been on the larger size and even though i've lost over 30lbs now theyve MAYBE gone done by half a cup size, on a good day. Like jess mentioned when I O they seem to grow overnight!

Ashley - I so feel for you with the H boobs. I have enough problems finding F cup bras so dread to think how you get on. There are a couple of stores here than do them but they are pricey. That website I included the link from is pretty good and often have sales on with decent prices to. you just have the hassle of sending stuff back if it doesnt fit quite right.

I may try a cami top with a shelf bra - does anyone have any brand recommendations?

Try a Nursing Tank Jen. Should have enough support... and you can use it later too.

I shop exclusively at lane bryant. The problem I have there, is their big cups are meant for plus size girls. I'm not very "wide" across the shoulder, so I literally cannot go bigger than their 38 band, or the straps are set too far apart. I use an extender in the back to give me enough room to breathe. lol. We are holding off on the pricey bras until I'm pregnant and have no other choice. There's a store I follow on FB in Milwaukee, I just need to give them a heads up and they'll make sure they have something in store for me to try on, and then they can order what ever I want for me.

Sears and JC penny carry a company you might like. Glamorise... I think that's the game. That's what I was wearing until I moved down here and now I can get sexy bras.. so I stopped buying them. They make soft cup, and an athletic bra.. which I lived in. My nanny bought me one when I was pregnant with the twins.. just to sleep in because I was SOOOOO miserable. Like.. sob in the shower the minute the bra came off miserable. Course, they're $90 in Canada... and like $30-$40 here.

My boobs are currently about 1/2 a size larger than usual because of where I am in my cycle. They say for girls with big boobs, that's a really good sign if they want to nurse later on.

Thanks for the recommendations Ashley, I'll give them a looksie

My bridesmaid M, who had DD2 8 weeks ago had massive boobs, way bigger than me (always has). I went to see her wednesday as I was working near where she lives. Shes still nursing atm but is barely keeping up her supply enough to meet DD2's needs, especially now shes getting bigger. I couldnt believe it - all that boobage and she's struggling with supply bless her!
