Trying not to get my hopes up but this morning I took a hpt since I still havent gotten my period (cd 38-39)
and i looked at it as soon as all the little liquid spread out and it looked like just one line (keep in mind the directions say read after 5 minutes..and i waited 5 seconds) so I told my DH it was a negative which I was expecting...

Well I forgot to look at it or even throw it away until just now (an hr later)
And there is a SECOND line! but it is faint and not nearly as dark as control....
Positive or negative?

AHH trying to to get my hopes up but still kind of freaking out..in excitement...

Thoughts?

Today is 3-4 days after I had extremely light spotting!

and of course I used my last digital 2 days ago!
Going to go get one now!

Heres pics of the 2 faint positives

Sounds like there is a chance. You really don't want to look at tests after the time limit because they can be wonky. . . what kind of test was it? Was the second line pink?

The spotting could have been implantation bleeding. I would test again for sure. Keep us posted!

I have no idea what kind of test it is..came in a big pack and they are all in little pink packages that say "pregnancy urine test strip fda fsc..blah blah blah"

on the lh tests that they came with the directions say (or show a picture of) a not as dark like being negative... BUT on the pregnanct test packages it dioesnt have that just 2 lines for positive and 1 line for negative....and I cant find anything that says the test time limit?

I want to go get a digital and test right now but im worried my urine may be too diluted

Usually any line on an HPT is a positive as long as it is pink (if it is a pink dye test)

I would try and wait another 4 hours at least before testing again and not drink too much water. Maybe buy 2 tests and plan to test using tomorrows first morning urine just in case todays is too dilute.

Good luck!

I think the general rule of thumb is that a second line after the time limit doesn't count. If it were me I woukd still be excited I agree that going and buying some cheapies and a digital is appropriate. Cheapies for the rest of the day and digital for tomorrow.

Gooooooooooodluck!

Oh and it was a pink dye test!

Oh and i took another pink dye and read at exactly 5 min and it was another faint positive! Clearly my plan of not getting excited isnt going so well...

My first pregnancy which i had m/c .. i bought a hpt and took it at work. keep in mind i was only 20yrs old and didnt know about taking hpt. so i sat down on the toilet and went pee while reading the instructions. i had already peed so i stuck the test strip in the toilet with my pee in it (sorry TMI) but i put it behind the toilet and went to check it after work and it was a BFP. too bad it ended bad.
fx for you

Those pics do look great and with HPT's - a second line is a second line no matter how faint. However as you took them past the time limit i wouldnt trust them 100%.

I see youve taken another since - I hope this is it for you! You must update us in the morning

Those lines don't even look faint compared to so many of the positive squinter ones. I would definitely retest
