most of you know I started a small stash of baby things to use as gifts and for our future while I was working. My main goal had been to have a bunch of stuff for SIL.

Well now that I know SIL is having boy... I find I don't want to part with a lot of things that I purchased assuming her baby would be a boy. Namely baby PJ's. I am a very liberal person, and will dress a baby girl in just about anything as long as it doesn't say the kid is a boy (I'm pretty liberal in the other direction too... but DH draws the line on dressing baby boys in pink jammies)

I admitted to to DH.. and what does he say? "Well keep them then, we're hopefully going to need them next year, or early the year after right?"

Sometimes that man makes me so happy.

These are the Jammies I was all upset about having to give as a present:

Here's a pink jammie example:

DH said the monkeys would be fine, he'd be ok with a baby boy wearing those in a pinch.. but he drew the line at the onesie that says "little fairy in training"... can't say I blame him there..

Your DH is a sweet for saying that

We still have a self imposed ban on baby things here as df worries it might jinx us. I *may* have bought something the other week which id been fawning over in the shop for weeks and hidden it

Those are sooo cute!!

We also have a ban on buying things like that around our house. I also have thoughts it might jinx us (and we may go broke! lol) but mostly if I got started looking at that and maternity stuff, I would go nuts! Obsessing all the time!!

Girls I had the ban. I swore I would not buy baby things until 3rd Trimester even. I seriously had purchased them with the intention for SIL, my friend Christen (she will actually get her baby things though lol),and anyone else I may need a present for... but those Jammies... (yes the Robot ones )... dunno.. they just feel like they're MINE if that makes any sense.

That said I have his permission to buy what I want, as long as I don't go crazy. And while I do have a good amount of things now, some really are gifts (baby girl items, I've tried hard to stick to gender neutral... which means I shopped a lot for boys. lol), but I've scored some awesome sales on some onesies (the "fairy in training one... everything in that photo was 1 cent each ).

And if it doesn't happen for us... then I'll have the next 8 years of baby shower presents all bought and ready to wrap

Yeah we have the ban as well - but I just saw the monkey and LOVED it. Maybe I will snap a pic when I go home at lunch but it was just so cute that I knew even if we never had kids I would LOVE to give it as a present to a niece or nephew.

And for those deals Ashley. . . I seriously don't blame you. You got so many things for such amazing prices!!!

We went to Target yesterday to get DH some new khakis and we walked by the baby section. It takes all my willpower not to stop and shop.

I did make a baby registry on amazon a month or so ago though LOL. I am using the excuse that I was pricing out our initial baby costs, but I was totally enjoying every moment of planning.

Aw how sweet!
I still have then 2 pairs of baby shoes in my car that I used when I told DH that I was pregnant...still cant look at them. Other than that I have stuffed animals that were kinda for me..kinda for future baby. And a Sea turtle piggy bank...and a matching rug and picture set that is for girls and is owls...will probably sell that as we are thinking a neutral nursery since DH doesnt want to find out the sex

Ari I could not imagine not knowing the sex... I'd go nuts!! We aren't doing a nursery at all, so it's not even that.. I just want to know what I'm carrying since I desperately want a girl, I've only ever wanted a girl. So if It's a boy I'd like to get any disappointment that comes along over with BEFORE he gets here. Nothing like sobbing over your baby cause it has the wrong junk as the doctor is putting it in your arms.

I didn't even give DH the option of waiting. I said "we are finding out." he said ok. Ultrasounds freak him out, so I won't be surprised if he doesn't even go with me and I have to have it written down for me

And yes, it's a myth that people who've had losses will "take either, I just want a baby." Most of us still know what we want and will be disappointed if it doesn't happen. Human like the rest

Omg...baby clothes...I just want to cuddle them

My DH also doesn't want to know find out the sex of a baby. He is ADAMANT. Which is funny to me, because's he's so chill and go with the flow on things. Yet when it comes to big decisions/purchases, he must do research before he goes forward with it.

But yeah, I'm hoping he changes his mind when I'm actually pregnant and everyone is asking and we need to buy things. Ahh can't wait!!!

I would drive myself insane if I didn't know the gender! DH said he just doesn't care either way so I am all about finding out as early as possible too.

Here is the monkey only baby item we have purchased so far:

That monkey is soooo cute!!!

I am planning to wait to find out the sex of the baby. I am not holding myself to it if I feel differently at the time but it is something that I have always wanted. DH thinks I am crazy, but when has he ever not? lol. We will see what actually happens when the time gets here.
