Does anyone else have serious fatigue while on AF?

I take a Pre-Natal Vitamin but I think I need to take more Iron, because I have really heavy cycles...TMI But I use Super Tampons and have to change them out every 3hrs. And I think with the amount of blood I'm losing, this is the reason I'm so exhausted. I went to bed at 7pm last night.

Oh lady I feel so bad for you! I know how it goes, i get tired and crave caffeine, chocolate and fried food when she's here. I use the Pearl tampons and I usually (the first day) go through one every 2-3 hrs.

I get very sleeping during AF too.
I can usually tell it's coming when I start getting headaches, feeling sleepy, and craving chocolate!

The loss of blood makes sense to me...I've lost ALOT over the past 3-4 weeks and I feel the same..I want to take naps all day every day

Hope you feel better soon!

I'm jealous you can use a tampon. Every hour is how often I have to change a super plus tampon if I try and use one!

I take the Rainbow lite Prenatal One vitamin. 30mg of iron I believe... I still get tired on AF.. but not like I did when my prenatal only had 18mg iron.

Oh wow fate I'm sorry, gosh that's terrible to have to change it that often. I need to look and see how much iron is in my prenatal...I think I'm going by the vitamin store after work and get an Iron supplement, just to have more iron..can't imagine it will hurt.

Aw sorry your going through it also Nicholle, sometimes I hate being a woman. lol

Painful periods are awful! Mine are terrible. Exhaustion, aching back and hips, horrible cramping and I lose a lot of blood. Those (and infertility) are reasons my OBGYN suggested the lap procedure for me, to see if I have endo.

I hate tampons, I actually use a menstrual cup and love it! Even on my heaviest days I only empty it 3 times, and on a lighter day it can go all day. Tampons are painful for me and the cup isn't, and being surgical grade silicone it is actually good for the balance in you and your flow isn't touching you the whole time lol I will never go back to tampons!

I always get pretty tired too. Not as tired as you stated but I have much lighter periods so your theory seems sound. Chocolate, fried food, laying on the couch/bed all day with a heating pad? Yeah, that's my typical AF routine.

That's an awesome routine I love it, AF is starting to dwindle down so I have more energy today. Woo hoo
