Dr office just called.. they're fast.

TSH = 11

It needs to be no higher than 5 for him to recommend ttc.. ideally under 3. Upping the meds, repeat blooddraw in 8 weeks just like last time.

We CAN ttc.. he just can't recommend it at this point.

I told him when I saw him I had been on 100mcg of synthyroid for years to keep me at 4, sometimes as much as 125mcg. He put me on 50mcg saying it'd be enough.

Well obviously it's not. And he's only bumping it to 75mcg... so likely in 8 weeks it'll be adjusted up again.

I guess it's good DH will likely be gone my next 2 cycles.. guess I'll stop planning my July 4th trip to see him (I'll be Oing).

Oh no Ashley! It is frustrating he started you so low then it sounds like you already know what you need! I guess I can see wanting to walk up so you take the lowest dosage possible but it seems like he started super low considering what you used to take. Hopefully the 75 will work and you wont have to wait for yet another adjustment.

You did get those results really fast though!

I'm so sorry Ashley, I can't even imagine how awful and discouraging this must be. I really hope your levels go down soon, I hate when we have stuff holding us back from ttc. We are here for you.

I'm so sorry your doc didn't listen to you in the first place! That's maddening. I'm so happy to know that your thyroid Is slowly coming down though.

My dr back home did the opposite. When it'd get bad, she'd knock it down almost to hyper.. then adjust back. The nurse was surprised it wasn't going to 100. *sigh*

You know what's amusing. Our Original TTC Date was August 2013... we started almost 2 years early... and we are no closer to being pregnant now than we were then.

I just saw your post on fb, sorry your results weren't great. Im surprised that the doc only put it upto 75 though given that its still a fair way from where it needs to be.

Urgh that about your ttc date must be a difficult realisation

It is.. I sat here crying as I typed it.. and I'm crying again just thinking of it.

I gave up my wedding for this.. for 2 years of trying and waiting and getting nowhere. All because my whole life I was told there was no reason I would not carry a child if I wasn't on the pill. All because I was led to believe my thyroid disorder was "mild" rather than helluva serious! It's not fair.

Maybe it's time to aska second opinion from another doctor? He doesn't seem to be listening to your concerns about your history and that is a serious concern. Sorry you're going through this

There is no other doctor. All the other Ob's won't take me unless I see an Endocrinologist first. I don't need an Endo right now... I just need the meds to regulate. I've been doing this for more than 10 years and I haven't seen an Endo since I was diagnosed. No need... all they can do is write the rx. There's no guarantee an Endo would give me the 100mcg either...

Oh Ashley I'm so sorry. I wish I could say or do something to fix your situation. I totally get the sadness you feel about almost hitting the two year mark. I will be hitting mine in about 2 months. Again, I'm so sorry.

I went to TGIFridays and had dinner. Then hung out with Reme's mom for the evening. Which made my day a little better.. better than sitting here and moping.

Screw the diet for a day or two. I might have to take tomorrow off working out, it looks like i'm going to have one helluva bruise where they stuck me.

That is crummy, aggravating news. I'm very sorry.

Maybe you should visit DH over the 4th anyway? At least to lift your spirits and have something to look forward to?

I am so sorry that you got this news! It's very frustrating when doctors don't take patients seriously or listen appropriately to their concerns. Could you maybe seek out a family doctor who could prescribe the higher level and listen to you more?

Aw, **HUGS** lady!! Words I say will not even begin to help how you feel I am sure but I AM sorry. I wish there was something we could all do for you. Doctors are ridiculous. If I was there, I would take you for a girls night and it would probably end with me drunk crying about TTC, lots of wine and chocolate and very unhealthy foods!

Nope, they require me to have my antibodies tested, which means an Endo visit. I know my antibodies are insanely high, they have never gone under 1000 in 10 years (normal is 40). But in the short term, they mean nothing. They mean that my thyroid is dying.. I know it's dying... That number might become important if we keep having losses and need to move onto an RE... I don't know how it'll help, far as I know there isn't anything you can do about that number... unless the more expensive thyroid meds (dissected.. aka natural) lower it.

The good news is even with my cheat day I met my weight goal for the start of the month. Only off by 1 day.. but I still made it. So I'm having TGI Friday's for dinner again to celebrate (left overs LOL). I was going to take the day off working out... but meeting the goal was exciting so when DH gets in the tub I'll muddle through it.
