First of all, I joined and introduced myself and then pretty much disappeared. Sorry about that. I had major log in problems. It would say i was logged in, but then when I tried to post it would tell me to log in again. I got in first try today though so fingers crossed its fixed!

Now my question: I am approximately 9 days PO and I tested this morning. BFN, which was expected. But for futures tests, I'm wondering how to go about this. FMU will not work for me in the strictest sense. See, my sleeping pattern is off and when I wake up I must pee or I won't sleep. It's just how I've always been. Usually, I go to bed around midnight. Then I wake up at 4, use the restroom, and back to bed. Then I get up with OH at 6:00 to make breakfast, etc...I use the restroom before heading back to bed around 7:00. then I'm up again around 10. It's a mess. So...what urine should I use? Should I test at 4 since it's the longest period of time I sleep? But to be honest that really doesn't appeal to me since I'll be half asleep. Maybe I should just hold it during the day for an extended time and test then? If so, how long would you recommend?

Thanks for any and all help ladies.

awww... you must be related to me!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm the same way with the waking up and peeing.

Testing at 4 or 10 would be ok.. if you don't work you could try and hold it an extra hour. And you don't have to test at 4, get some dixie cups and stick it in a cupboard if you don't want your DH to see it or you have any cats. Then you can test when you actually get up.

4-5 hours is what you want for a hold, anything after that is just a bonus. But really, 3+ hours is sufficient unless you are drinking a bunch of liquids.

Ashley. I think she gave some great advice. If I had to choose I would probably try and use the 4 AM one if you drink with your breakfast just to make sure what you have is a little more concentrated. Or if I am being honest here I would totally test both

Best of luck to you!!!!

back!! Were glad to see you back

And I agree with Ashley, she made a good point. If your not drinking tons of liquids 3+ hrs should be good enough.

Elle, if it were me, I'd probably test both the 4am and 10am pee but completely up to you! Ashley gave some great advice!

Hahaha, I would test both those times as well! POAS addicts much huh? Welcome back by the way! I hate admitting this even to myself but if you are pregnant, chances are (and when you get to) at 12-15dpo a 3 hr hold should be sufficient. Good luck!

I think the other ladies have given some good advice. Is there any way you can designate a time frame where you will "not drink anything" other than maybe a small sip if your throat is dry or something, to make sure that whatever urine you are using will be equivalent to a full night's worth of sleep...? If you're not drinking a lot over night I imagine 4 or 6 would be fine.

Thanks a lot ladies! I think I'll probably test at the 4 o'clock then, or whenever i can hold for more than three hours. Haha I totally want to test all day long of course, but I'm trying to refrain for now. I'm attempting to hold out until Monday to test again....we'll see how that goes
