First, sorry for so many posts today. Initially it was fueled by hunger and now it is fueled by TWW crazies

DH and I weren't really "trying" to time BDing for O last week. I was so busy and so tired that it just didn't happen. Until Thursday evening around 10 p.m. I thought there was no chance that we caught that egg, and it was just whatever -- no harm no foul, if you will.

This is going to sound so dumb, but I had no clue that the egg had a lifespan. I thought that if the sperm wasn't ready and waiting the exact moment that the egg "become available" then you missed it.

I had a small amount of pink, sticky cm today. So yeah, I guess there is a slight chance? I had counted myself out and was prepared to drink many, many pina coladas on vacation. Now what the heck do I do?!

Edit to add: Not being able to temp is going to complicate things -- I'll be eating at weird times, being in the sun a lot, probably sleeping/waking at different times...

When does vacation start?

I am a devils advocate when it comes to drinking during pregnancy. The risks are highest when the mother feeds the baby via her bloodstream. That doesn't happen until the yolk sac is gone, which would be several weeks from now. That said I wouldn't go crazy on them, but if you have a few, you won't hurt anybody (cept maybe your brain, it might feel some pain ).

You have to remember, that we live in a sue happy country. Doctors HAVE to tell you not to have any alcohol, because if they say other wise, you could sue them. But in the rest of the world... people regularly enjoy alcohol (mostly wine and beer) while pregnant. Red wine appears to work quite well to fend off premature labor and might calm an irritable uterus. The midwife clinic I want to use is a bit of an oddity, they recommend a beer with in 12 hours of labor to kick start milk production in women. I hate beer, but my husband's ex will be dropping by with a cold corona for me when she brings their son to see his sibling

Well there is definitely a chance! It has been proven that it only takes once!
You might as well proceed on as normal as there is no way to actually know unless you POAS. Enjoy yourself and try not to worry. When do you leave?

Try to have fun and relax on your vacation! There definitely is a chance, but I don't think a drink or two will hurt. My SIL had the odd glass of wine throughout her pregnancy, and it was ok'd by her doctor. Just maybe don't go overboard with it lol! Good luck! Have fun on your holiday!

Ok thanks, you're making me feel better.

I'm not a huge drinker to begin with, especially not when it's hot out -- I get headaches. So I don't plan on binging, but a shot or two may not be out of the question. Although I could claim mercy b/c of this acid reflux business.

I leave Friday (so 9 DPO)!!

Gosh should I bring a couple pee sticks with me?? I think so...I'd rather know one way or the other! Especially since there will be sushi there, mwahahaha

Oh man! Well you could take some sticks with you (I took some with me on our trip). I would test friday even though it may be to early still just to settle my mind a bit. That way at least it will settle some of your feelings.

Exactly! Thank you!

I'm not even certain what my cycle length is going to be, so it's going to be hard to tell if I'm "late."

Pretty much safe to say though that if I don't get a BFP by July 4 or 5, AF is likely on her way, no?

I did throw some sticks in my bag already! I'll probably test on Sunday (11DPO) and again next Wednesday (14 DPO).
