So on Saturday, I had a really bad headache all day. I thought it was because I had ran earlier in the day in the bright sun.

Yesterday (Sunday), I woke up feeling like I had gotten hit by a truck. Bad body aches, chills, sweats, no appetite. I had a fever later in the day and continued to feel awful. My stomach would would be ok for one meal, then I'd have diarrahea or really bad gas pains the next.

This morning I decided to go to the doctor -- I was worried b/c I just came back from Mexico and thought maybe I had Dengue Fever (read about it here -- I also have had a rash that I wrote off as being from sun exposure).

Doctor shocked me when she said I had a UTI. I had NO other symptoms of a UTI, and I've had plenty in my day. I *always* know when I have one -- always. The burning is unmistakable. She gave me an RX for Cipro and sent my urine out for a culture.

I'm still feeling achy and dizzy, although not quite as bad as yesterday. I'm totally wiped out and I still get the stomach/gas pains and can't be far from a bathroom.

Kind of wish I would have asked for bloodwork. Sorry this is so long :/

How awful! I have never experienced that with UTI but I have heard that they can do all kinds of crazy things in your body... and maybe your immune system was already weak from eating different foods and stuff in Mexico. Hope you feel better soon!

I went back to an urgent care center this a.m. because although my fever/chills/sweats were gone by Tuesday a.m., I started getting the classic UTI symptoms Tuesday night.

I finished Cipro on Wednesday night, and I still have some of the burning and pressure.

So they gave me a new RX for it today, although he said "Your culture is negative from Monday and your urine looks fine today."

But wouldn't the Cipro have killed all bacteria and I could still have a UTI? Sure as hell still feels like it.

He also mentioned that I could have BV. I have my annual exam on Tuesday so at least I can get that test done there if this doesn't clear up.

Frustrated!!!!

Good gracious I really hope you get to feeling better soon! Keep us posted, I have dealt with UTIs in the past and they are far from fun.

Ugh that stinks a lot. UTI's are evil and it's always a waiting game for it to clear up even with the meds. I do hope it's nothing worse though.

Thank you very much, ladies. I feel so much better after the second course of Cipro. I just knew I needed it. All of my symptoms are gone.
